Hi, I was just looking at the C02/emissions and fuel consumption figures for the Tdi VRS with DSG estate. I'm nearly there with a purchase but one thing I'm unsure about are these figures as they don't look very good.... 47mpg and CO2 159g for the 2.0 CR. This isn't particularly good compared to VW/Audi even Alfa equivalents!? Can someone who owns one tell me what the real world figures are...if you're happy/or not and what kind of economy you're getting. On paper the figures look OK....I thought DSG was supposed to be more fuel efficent than manual, don't know where I got that from!? Any help much appreciated.

If I decide on buying a VRS it won't be the Green...I think it would look too mental! I'm going the other way and opting for Steel Grey I reckon... -
2011 Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0 TDI CR vRS

Ha ha.....I think you'll find the build of the Giulietta is very good. The main thing is the value it will lose. I know that the smaller model Mito holds it's value well but the predictions for the Giulietta are bad. The Golf GTD was very nice actually...we found it to be faster and a noticably quieter engine than the Skoda. I thought this was surprising as I'm sure it's exactly the same unit!? As pointed out though the Golf is a very popular car and felt small inside. The main thing with the Skoda is the value for money....It's amazing! Mmmmm decisions, decisions!? Can anyone advise me on how well the VRS TDI holds it's value...is it any good? -

( First post ) This is the colour of VRS estate I'm considering but with DSG. I test drove one at the weekend (Race Blue) and I was seriosly impressed. The deal on new is nothing short of incredible. 20k after the VAT was dropped and the inclusion of 3 years free servicing! My major problem is the brand snobbery firmly running through my veins!! It's a Skoda!? I know this is sad but I'm having difficulties....The other half hasn't which I'm surprised about but we only have a few weeks to decide. Alfa Giulitta Veloce TCT and (used) Golf GTD DSG being the options. The skoda comes in 6-7 grand less!!?? -
Hi, After test driving an Octavia VRS estate at the weekend I'm seriously considering a purchase. It would be good to get some idea of ownership quality from the forum. I am a self confessed brand snob (Alfa/Audis in the past).....so the only thing stopping me from buying a great car is that badge. Sad,I know, but I just need a little more time....ha ha
