  1. Deposit taken. Will update thread when balance paid.
  2. Cheers, wanna buy it? Having driven the UP for a few days, I'm genuinely massively impressed by its all round abilities. Would keep the 120d if I thought it'd be used much but it simply won't. Price reduction bump - £16500 ono.
  3. Hi all, haven't been on my old stomping grounds apart from a bit of lurking every now and again, especially more lately as the Citigo section has helped my research. Very aware that I'm not really known on here anymore but some of the older members will vouch for me (I hope!) so you can buy with confidence. Colin very kindly gave me the OK to post my car here. Anyway, I'm selling my 120d. Awesome car but one of my biggest failings is that I find it very hard to keep cars so change often! Wanted something completely different and much smaller (VW up!) so up for sale it goes. Advertised elsewhere as well. Details: January 13, 62 reg. Warranty till 1/16 I'm the second owner, I believe it was BMW management prior to this 12200 miles Great spec which includes: 18 inch alloys upgrade; Keyless go (standard) Visibility package (Xenons, Auto headlights and wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror, headlight wash, adaptive headlights, high beam assist); Interior Comfort Package (extended storage, extended light pack, climate control); Driver Comfort Package (Servotronic steering, Park Distance Control, Front and Rear - visual display on screen); Folding exterior mirrors; Front sports seats with electric bolsters; Heated front seats; Black Dakota Leather; Midnight Blue metallic; Sun Protection Package. ***Also included is Service Inclusive valid till Jan 2017 or 49700 miles. *** No accidents, no warranty claims, great condition as would be expected for age. Good tyres, wheels undamaged. Fast and very economical. Easy 50mpg and 7 second 0-60. More importantly, brilliant mid-range. First service is not due for approx 8000 miles but covered by service package This car was bought outright from Blue Bell Wilmslow and there is no finance outstanding. Tax expires 30/11/2014 Price: £16750 ono Payment method: Cash on collection (payment into bank) or bank transfer Location: Cheadle, Cheshire
  4. Seriously, the worst ever has for to be the lack of a glovebox light if 'interior light package' wasn't specced. Truly shocking. This on a 35k A5. ------------------------ Huck (iPhone mode!)
  5. Totally echo the points made about good contract hire deals. Seriously, if you live on the main contract hire sites and monitor them regularly, there are always stunning deals to be had if you catch them before they've gone. eg Merc E Coupe 350cdi last year. 330/month inc vat, 6 months down. Serious amount of car for the money. ------------------------ Huck (iPhone mode!)
  6. It's all a bit confusing but down to the not-very-intuitive nomenclature BMW uses. Current 3 series saloon (F30) maxes out at 330d. (258bhp) Outgoing 3 series and still current (E92) 3 series coupe has 286bhp. There is no more powerful 335d than this. This engine was also used in the older E60 535d. Current 535d has anywhere from 300 - 313bhp for the newest. This is the upgraded 35d engine. Which, confusingly, is the same as the 40d engine which is also used in my X6, X5s and 740d . Which isn't the same as the 50d which is a tri-turbo!! Clear as mud! Appears BMW are trying to keep using the traditional nomenclature for their established models (535d/335d) while using a higher number (40d) for their higher end models, albeit the same engine.
  7. No, the 335d has always had 286bhp and still does in E92 coupe form. The newer twin turbos for 3 and 4 series will almost certainly have variants of the 40d engines. The 40d engines (still 3l twin turbo) range from 306bhp to 313bhp currently. ------------------------ Huck (iPhone mode!)
  8. Hi, There is no 'current' 335d. The new model is, for the moment, topping out at 330d (brilliant car). Also, the 335d was never offered as a manual, to the best of my knowledge. Edited to add that there is a current 335d, the E92. But the point about manual/auto still stands....I think! ------------------------ Huck (iPhone mode!)
  9. There are so many diesels out there nowadays which are proper fast, so that's a bit of an outdated concept!! I had a 335d Touring some years ago and, yes, it was a very effective, everyday weapon. Generally got around high 30s on a run and high 20s in town. There'll almost certainly be a 340d soon, followed possibly by an M50d at some point. I've got the 40d in my X6 - that's quick, but the 50d X6 I've been in is utterly mental. In a 3 series, it would be epic.
  10. Happy Birthday Brisky! Spent some time with Ian (Tavia4x4) recently, reminiscing and marvelling at the behemoth our beloved little Briskoda has become! Superb work from Colin and his team, keeping this place one of the friendliest car forums on the 'net. Brilliant! And here's the pub itself - The Squirrel near Horwich (then an Indian restaurant, twice, then burned down :(). Will never forget the unbelievable buzz of sitting in there for the first time after a really satisfying B-road blat, accompanied by various guys from Scoobynet, Colin and Ian. Can't believe it's been (nearly)10 years! In fact, here's the thread detailing where me, Ian and Colin all met together for the first time - I forgot about the 'Thursday nights' and also have been transported back 10 years to a ludicrous traffic light drag race with AndrewC which I had completely forgotten about! Ah, the memories, it's enough to make an - increasingly middle-aged - man go all misty-eyed! http://bbs.scoobynet...ay-evening.html Have also spent some time on vortex looking at all the posts there (Skoda sub-forum, sort "from beginning', sort 'ascending') - we had a superb little community there which was the basis for what Briskoda has become. Some of the names and characters! It's like going back in time and remembering things vividly which I'd completely forgotten in the intervening years. Colin's first vortex post: http://forums.vwvort...0-Parp-to-all.-) Ian's: http://forums.vwvort...ne&daysprune=-1 Mine: http://forums.vwvort...RS&daysprune=-1 The call to arms: http://forums.vwvort...-our-own....... Well done Colin, I'm genuinely proud of what the site has become through all your hard work. Here's to a fantastic 10th birthday party! Huck
  11. Hi Stuart! Have made my mind up - bought a Mito 1.4TB 155 Veloce, today. Picking it up next week, cannot wait! Will be sad to see the Panda go as it's really brought back the fun of driving - cornering, accelerating etc. like a loon and still staying legal! :D:D
  12. LOL! Hi Col, the BM will be with me for a wee while longer. The Panda is the most likely candidate for replacement but I really don't have a clue what to go for. The size, nippiness, handling, quality are all just perfect for my needs at present.
