  1. MY16 SE L Amundsen with Smart Link iPhone 6+ and Nexus 4 Delivery expected mid July
  2. I have a provisional build week of 26, and now full confirmation of the spec, see attached. SE L Plus pack and SmartLink confirmed, woohoo! I was tempted to add SmartGate and Wifi, but I'm not sure the latter is very necessary (they don't seem to explain what it's actually for?!) and it sounds like the former can be easily retrofitted if I want it later.

  4. Hi all, been following along for a while, having ordered a hatchback 2.0 TDI DSG Elegance at the end of April with the free ACC and Park assist. I've been in touch by email with my dealer to try and get SmartLink added. He's come back to me today with a revised order, maintaining the ACC + PA free of charge, with the SmartLink and a few other options I'd chosen. Interestingly this new order now start with 'OCTAVIA HATCH SE L' rather than Elegance, and is £290 cheaper on the base price of the car compared to the original order, so that went well
  5. I took the dog for her usual walk today and thought she was being a bit quieter than usual in the back of the car. When I let her out I noticed little chewed bits of rubbery plastic on the floor. I looked up and discovered she'd chewed away the end of the grab handle! So, my question is, can this part be easily replaced? I'll have this car for another couple of years first, but before trading it in I'd like to know that I can put things right. Thanks!
  6. Good point! I've been looking at the manual online up until now, I've just pulled it out of the car, and sure enough it's as you suggest in there, both on page 44 regarding the indicator on the control knob, and pages 18-25 not listing the low beam at all. So it's definitely intentional! I have to admit, I find the change a little jarring! Especially as the indicator still exists on the panel.
  7. It does seem like an odd choice to actually disable this indicator (as it's definitely present if you shine a light onto the dash). Is one other possibility, given how close together MarieK, Wiganyeti, BigHusky and my cars were built that there's an actual issue with the batch rather than it being intentional? I wonder if I should perhaps contact Skoda UK to get proper confirmation given the dealer isn't being particularly helpful.
  8. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I hadn't noticed the symbol on the opposite side of the knob (after having the auto lights in my previous model too). I shouldn't be surprised, I hadn't noticed the electric mirroring folding either until a couple of weeks after having the car. Though the operation of that makes little sense to me. It only seems to fold them in when I move the dial to that position upon stopping, and the dial needed moving back when I wanted to restart for them to fold out again. I'd rather assumed they'd just auto fold in and out when the ignition was stopped and started when this feature was active. One final oddity with the headlight indicator. I grabbed my phone and put it in flash light mode, shone it as the dash, and noticed there's still an icon for the low beam indicator! I wonder why they've opted to disable it.
  9. Tenerife next month, Portland in October (paid for this month)... I'd best live a bit frugally in September. Also, yay holidays!

  10. tI've had my new 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance now for a month, and I'm very very please with it. 1000 miles in and the fuel economy is starting to creep up, which is a relief! I do have one little 'bug' though. When the headlights are on dip (in either auto mode or when the dial is manually turned) I have no indicator on the dashboard to confirm they are on (the usual green one from my previous SE spec model). It does have a working full beam blue indicator. I dropped it in to Progress Bedford this morning and they've done a diag and said everything appears fine and suggested my particular model might not have this indicator (it seemed like they genuinely had no idea if it should or not). So, my question, does anyone have an MY14 (I believe? Delivered late June) 1.2 Elegance spec who can confirm whether this indicator is indeed not present? I do wonder if the dealer is just wanting to avoid a potentially very time consuming piece of work to rectify the problem if it's missing/faulty. Thanks in advance!
  11. I wouldn't admit it to anyone at the time, but yesterday I wasn't sure I'd done the right thing changing to DSG and petrol. I think that was just getting used to change. After putting a hundred miles on it today.... wow, I'm so happy, the gearbox is incredible, and whilst it's not a fast car, it's most definitely not underpowered, that little 1.2 litre engine can do some amazing things! I realise you all already know this, but I just wanted to let you know I understand now On another note, my previous SM is now available! It's over here for £16,450 at time of writing, so I feel pretty good about that, having got £15,775 on the part ex.
  12. Hey Marie, on collection my dealer told me it would apply to new orders only and that his Part Ex offer would have been much less generous on the new finance package. But I wouldn't entirely trust his word to be honest after the 12-speaker incident! So I'd definitely see if there's any movement if you can. He actually had to ring up HQ to allow him temporary access to recalculate my finance based on the latest settlement figure on the old finance package, so it was definitely suspect!
  13. Having just handed back my previous Yeti I thought I'd do this myself in case the dealer didn't! I tried the MFD reset and it wasn't enough, it just reset my central locking and time preferences! Resetting the Bluetooth devices (and it does just remove all paired devices) required going into Phone on the head unit and selecting the Factory Reset option in there (separate to the other Setup/Reset option which just reset station presets for me). Hope that helps!
  14. Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but thought I'd bring it up in case it hadn't been. It looks like as of this week you can now pick up the Yeti on the 0% solutions finance (http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/YetiE/finance-offers/default) I only thought to look because my dealer had trouble completing the paperwork on mine because of it going in this week. Maybe a sign of the coming apocalypse facelift?
