  1. This topic has left me so depressed! I am looking to offload my beloved Felicia to someone who will appreciate it for the awesome vehicle that it is...thought that maybe Briskoda was the place to find that person but its not looking promising!!! This throw-away society that we live in does my head in. A perfectly good, functioning car with low mileage and a clean bill of health will probably end up at the scrappers, simply because it doesn't look 2014. It sucks.
  2. Hi, does anyone have any experience of, or know how to by-pass or immobilise the immobiliser on a Skoda Felicia (P-Reg, 1.2 Petrol)??? The car only has another year or two left in it, sadly. I want to keep it running but would like to avoid taking it to a garage to get it sorted if poss. The current state of play is as follows: the engine cuts out after approx 3 seconds. Fuel filter has been changed, relays checked & fuel pump checked. All working fine..we reckon that the only thing it could be is the immobiliser. Any views, experience and expertise is greatly appreciated! Cheers.
  3. Thanks for your post Anewman. Yes I have a spare key, and I have tried it already but I will definately have another go with it before carrying out an immobiliser by-pass.
  4. Cheers Tom. Do you know of a way to by-pass the ECU, or immobilise the immobiliser (!?) Despite being very reliable the car has only got another year or two left in it. I dont wanna have to throw a load of money at it if I can help it, and I reckon that this job would need doing at a garage as it sounds too technical for me!! Thanks again.
  5. Thanks tom. I haven't got as far as the steering column as yet. Will get back to you on that!
  6. hi. i was wondering if you would be able to give me any tips on how to diagnose whether or not it is the immobiliser that is causing my car to cutt out after about 3 seconds? and how i could fix it if it is the immobiliser? i have checked the fuel pump, changed the filter & checked relays.
  7. hi, thanks for your posts and sorry for the late response. Since my last post i have changed the fuel filter, checked the relays & fuel pump. The car still will only start briefly. You mentioned the immobilizer..do you have any tips on how I could check to see if it is the immobilizer that is causing this, and how I could sort it out? thanks again.
  8. Hi, Can anyone help me? My P-reg, 1.2 petrol skoda felicia keeps cutting out after about 3 seconds. My friend and I have checked the fuel pump and relay (both seem to be working fine) and we have changed the fuel filter as we thought that it may be blocked and starving the engine of fuel. Despite all this, the problem hasn't been resolved. Cheers.
  9. Hi, I am having a similar problem at the moment too, only my engine cutt's out after about 3 seconds. Although I haven't attempted to fix it yet, I can confirm that the fuel filter is under the car as anewman suggests. I located mine earlier on today. Let me know how you get on.
