  1. You've had a desqueak! What was the dealer solution and did it work? (Mine has the same problem)
  2. Thanks for that. Makes me a slightly less worried that they're going fiddle with the electronics at the same time for emissions appeasement (there's a lot of it going on with other manufacturers). I guess your diesels felt the same afterwards?
  3. Ah sorry, I did search back a few pages, but I guess my dealer was late contacting me. Has someone on here experienced that connection failure?
  4. Dunno, recall notice doesn't say. It's on cars built between 1 May 2015 and 1 Dec, so given how few cars seem to have got out to buyers last year, I'd say all.
  5. Just had notification of a recall on my Superb. The email says: "We have identified that your vehicle requires a free product enhancement to ensure its continued smooth running and reliability" the DfT recall notice (http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/expand.asp?uniqueID=EF11A240D2638B4D80257F380036D318&freeText=Blank&tx=0.7277338) says SOME ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS MAY FAIL - WORST CASE ENGINE MAY CUT OUT Due to an incorrectly locked cable clamp at the fuse box certain functions such as vehicle start, boot lid and dash board warning lights may not operate. It is also possible the engine may cut out. 1759 cars affected in UK Anyone had it done? With this emissions scandal around I am worried they're sneaking in a software tweak that'll reduce performance and increase consumption.
  6. I've got buzzing from the around the centre of the dash where the sat nav screen is. very annoying and I don't think easily fixed without getting the dealer involved.
  7. I guess no one's suffering from the same resonance! I'm weighing up the size of the annoyance of the buzz against going to the dealer and having them tell me 'that's normal' or somesuch other excuse.
  8. I've had the Mk111 Superb SE Business Combi for about a month now. Great car - comfortable, huge, 50mpg+ average. One massive annoyance is a buzzing/resonance from the central dashboard area around where the nav screen sits when I accelerate. Sometimes if you press on the screen surround in the right place it goes away. Driving me potty - anyone noticed this, or better yet, come up with a fix? Thanks!
  9. Thanks to everybody who replied to my request for their Superb stories. Much appreciated. Some happy drivers out there! I'm not sure when the article will be going out (sometime in Nov likely), but I'll try and post back up here when I find out. Ta, Nick
  10. Hi, I'm writing a used buyers' guide on the second gen Skoda Superb for Auto Express magazine and needed help from owners such as yourselves. First I need a owners' review, about 150 words, talking about your experience so far with the car. Either email me (I think I can be emailed) or post it here, but I will need first name and surname, where you live (nearest town) and model and age of car. Then, post below anything you wished you'd known when you bought the car (new or used)! That can anything from quirks to desireable spec, to things that don't quite work properly Looks like a reliable beast, but anything that would help a future owner will be great Much appreciated Nick
