Sorry for the delay in replying Rick. They weren't on DSG boxs, in fact I haven't seen one of these boxes yet. Is this a manual gearbox with clutch control carried out by the ECU? If that was the case I would assume that other than auto clutch the rest of the system including the flywheel would be conventional parts. Maybe a check of the part numbers would reveal what flywheel is fitted?

I have converted several of these DMF's to solids and have as yet to have a problem. All conversions were carried out on cabs.

Ok I have since found the problem. There is an ambient air temperature sensor that sits in the o\s\f chassis leg and one of the wires was badly corroded.

I have a 2007 Octavia and as soon as the ignition is on the air-con starts working as if it is switched on. The engine warms up in normal time but the heater will only blow warmish air inside and switching the control panel on or off makes no difference. I assume I have a sensor malfunction but I would appreciate any info you people can give me. I did do a search but could not find this particular problem. Many thanks JD Anyone?
