Thanks Chris, just what I was looking for

As above, I know theres 2 versions available, but how do I know for sure that the one in my car is the 16V 100 BHP? The cars rear badge shows 16V as per the photo above. Its just the fact the airbox doesnt have a 16V badge on it thats worrying me. Thanks again for the quick responses Andrew

I've just replaced my old 1.4 16V with a new one. The old one had a nice shiny 16V badge on the airbox, the new one just says 1.4. Probably being paranoid, but I just wanted to check if this was normal, or is there the possibility that the non 16V (75bhp) engine has been fitted by mistake? Thanks Andrew

Does anyone have a ballpark figure of how much I should be paying to have a new clutch fitted? What is the normal mileage before this would need to be replaced? Thanks Andrew

Thanks Chris / Denis. car was running great until yesterday when it had its first problem in 40000 miles. It wouldnt start & when it did it kept cutting out (almost like driving from cold without the choke on). The dealer replaced the MAP, & this cured the idle but it still ran really rough. He's now replaced the exhaust valve which had failed & which he thinks led to the MAP failure. Up until yesterday, the car had been absolutely great. Nice to get the bill just before Xmas as well.

My 1.4 16v has had an oil emulsion under the cap almost from day one. The coolant level never drops, & the oil when drained looks ok. I suspected a leaking cylinder head gasket, but my dealer investigated & pressure tested & found no fault. He insists this is a fairly common problem & is due to condensation? Is he telling me a porky?
