  1. We have a 2011 Superb wagon. The reversing camera option was not available. We would like to replace the standard mirror with an integrated system. Has anyone attempted this ? Recommendations. Sincerely, Tom
  2. Our 2.0 TDI Superb has just completed 5000 trouble free km. The service book indicates the first oil change is at 15,000 km. I have no problems changing the oil myself, but should I bother ? In my 3.0l V6 camry I change the oil every 5,000km. At 230,000 km it still travels well. Here in Australia, there are a few brands offering VW507.00 oil. What do you guys think ? Change the oil yourself between planned services ?
  3. Probably. I was driving the superb all weekend some 400km. Just when I drive the camry and swap back it takes a few minutes to adjust.
  4. I find the brakes on the superb very very powerful. I would like to just lighten the initial bite and hopefully avoid the noise dive. Has anyone tried different pads or similar to smooth out the initial break bite ? Thanks,
  5. Face it guys, this is really lazy engineering and skoda lost at least one sale. Consider the isuzu d-max. They move the indicator to the door side depending on which country it is sold. Now that is customer focused. I could image a lawsuit which would force the manufactures to correct their cost savings measure. BTW at just over 10,000 km our DSG wagon has been faultless.
  6. Exactly and this is why the Yeti sale collapsed. I wanted the manual, but the stalk on the door side.
  7. We have a Superb wagon diesel. I find the filling up with fuel a bit tricky. The rubber insert inside the petrol tanks forces one to correctly orient the fuel pump. Even so I find there is sufficient back pressure to make filling the car a chore. We had a Holden Calibra years ago and similar problems but we removed the plastic insert. Have any skoda owners removed the rubber filler insert ?
  8. Interesting. If I only rely on the right side mirror, then cars on my right appear further away than they are. I would expect the opposite. This means I have to check with my rear view mirror to gauge the distance otherwise I could pull out in front of car thinking its say 50 meters away, when it's maybe 5 meters away. From the manual
  9. My wife owns a new 2011 Superb Wagon 6 speed DSG with 2.0 TDI. When I drive the car I find the optical enhanced driver side rear view mirror a problem. It shows cars further away than they are. The mirror also seems to be two parts. The passenger side mirror is normal. Now on my Camry I find the passenger side mirror optically enhanced, but not on the driver side mirror. Maybe Skoda forgot to swap the mirrors over when they converted from Left side drive to right side drive. Here is Australia we drive on the left, which means the steering is on the right. How have other Superb owners found the mirrors ? Regards Tom
  10. We have the 6 DSG in our 2011 Superb Wagon 2.0 TDI. Love it. Compared to the old 4 speed v6 camry there is world of difference. The camry is smoother down low and off idle, but when it comes to overtaking, with the DSG you just accelerate and it goes. The camry always has the delay. I'd say the DSG responds faster than a manual in basic last minute overtaking maneuvers. I just hope it's reliable. tom
  11. Seems most of the modern cars have these very light duty pack racks. Why not something from old where one could load the tent and a stack of camping gear. Saw an old ford station wagon which had the roof loaded with gear. The Yeti should be a good candidate. These rail systems seems very light duty.
  12. thanks for the corrections. Must have confused the UK lot with the Yanks
