Thanks all. Remanufactured turbo being delivered today

Got mine 5 years ago. Couldn't find any anywhere so asked the local car dealer who goes to auctions and buys specifically asked for vehicles (usually diesel estates lol) and he found one almost straight away and bought it. I paid more than I wanted to but 5 years later I still love it and it's only had a couple of issues (apart from the turbo blowing this week!).

Hi all. So my turbo blew up today and I need a new one. My garage have tasked me with finding a recon one but I have no idea what to search for, where to go, and what to ask. The mechanic mentioned pipes and fitting kits as well. I had a quick look on Ivor Searle but there are a few different ones. Can anyone point me at a good place to get a decent recon one with a warranty and what I need to get with it? It's a 55 plate fabia vrs with no mods. Thank you in advance.

Ok i found a link and it's probably the window regulator. so what do i do? Take it to a garage tomorrow as i don't have the tools or the spare part?

Ok bear in mind im a lady with not much technical knowledge! My passenger front electric window will not go up. makes the right noises but also a bit a a glass grating sound if that makes sense. I've tried the key trick etc.with no luck. i now have the door card off but obviously can't get to the glass still. what can i try now? Im stuck with a window down on a Sunday when all is open is kwik fit :-( Or point me to a link if there's one I've missed. Thank you :-)

Don't suppose the gear knob is still available? If it is is it the vrs marked one and is all the top foil still intact? Mine is split and keeps cutting my hand (

Huge apologies if this has already been answered. I had a good search and could not find anything that matched my problem. I have a 2005 vRS which is fab, love it to bits. About a month or so ago my wipers stopped working while driving so I switched it off. About a minute later I tried again and they worked. This continued to happen but very irregularly. It would mainly be on intermittent where in between wipes it would fail completely. Rear would work as would the washers etc just no wiping at all. If it sits on normal wipe it will continue to work ok. However if you turn it off then a bit later turn it on they won't work until it is off for about a minute. When it does start working you have to depress the single wipe function and hold it till it has finished a full wipe and then it will be fine otherwise it stops half way through and you have to wait again. The problem is now happening very regularly now. I have checked the bonnet catch and the fuses and all appears ok. My question to you guys is what do you think it is? Could it be the motor or something else? If it is the motor is it failry easy to change using the manual? I am a girl but not totally blonde lol

I have 17" OZ alloys on my VRS and want to switch back to the original size alloys. I will get some pics for you and see what you think?

Hmm not sure what type they are. I will give them a clean up and take some pics and post them up later. Also thanks for the tip about swaps I shall put something on the for sale section.

I have a 55 plate Fabia VRS which have OZ alloys on with 205/40/17 tyres. Is this the original size wheels that would have been fitted? If not what size are they. I don't like the OZ alloys so was looking to go back to whatever it had originally but for the life of me I can't find anything anywhere. Thanks in advance for such a noob question :S
