  1. 1st April 2015 Skoda Octavia Mk3 Elegance Metallic Silver Hatch. 1.4TSI DSG fitted with Pirelli P.7. 225x45xR17. 400 miles. I had the car Laser examined on the equipment at Bush Tyres Sleaford, and they found both front wheels were pointing to the right. FOS wheel Toe was 0.04" and the FNS was 0.15". This was corrected to 0.05" both sides at a cost of£42.50. I contacted Horton. s Skoda Lincoln who informed me that the cost was not refundable. Tracking was not checked during the PDI and suspension geometry was not covered under warranty. I am pleased the errors have been found early on to avoid premature tyre wear, but I think factory settings should be checked and corrected at the PDI stage. Once driven from the showroom they will not entertain any approach about these settings.(Potholes and kerbing being the stock defence.) I suggest a request by new car collectors insisting on a print out of steering geometry before accepting the hand over. They have the equipment, and it may improve the quality control on the production line for this part of the final assembly.
  2. I bought mine on the 13th Feb and currently have 1500 miles on the clock. It is averaging 46 mpg but is really nice to drive and very powerful when you want to get going. The DSG gearbox is a dream. I wish I had bought one years ago. All in all I find it a roomy vehicle with excellent quality and fittings for the price I paid for it. A pre-reg SE model in silver that had just been delivered before I bought it. (£14 grand). I thought I did well. Compare that with a smaller Golf/Jetta with the same engine/gearbox £20 grand plus. No contest.
  3. Newbie. Thank you very much. I bought the boot nets for my Citigo and you had to dismantle a lot of boot trim to fit similar hooks for the rear net, and it was quite a long job, but I managed to get them done.
  4. Has anyone fitted the Boot Nets to their hatchback Rapid please? I have ordered some from Ebay and have been trying to find some fitting instructions on the Briskoda site, without luck. Thanks.
  5. The Skoda Citigo took first place, without any problem.
  6. Big Steve. I live in Sleaford. My car is a Citigo 60 Elegance in RED but with the light interior. You are welcome to see it if you want to meet say at Downtown, or some other suitable place nearby. Let me know please? JSRW
  7. Owens. Thank you very much. It looks easy enough now I have some details. I appreciate your advice and pictures. Happy motoring. I see you have a couple of old BSA Bikes. Do you mean motorcycles? I am just refurbishing a 1953 BSA Winged Wheel. I have to fit it in a 1950's BSA Cycle, then it Might be back on the road after languishing in a Devon Barn for nearly 50 years. JSRW.
  8. Owens. Thank you for the explanation. I now understand the pictures better. How does the trim come off please. Are there any screws? or is it just 'clipped' in place? JSRW.
  9. Owens. Reference to your previous 'posts' and 'thumbnail' pictures. When you say that the holes are already drilled, from the 'thumbnail' picture it looks as though you have had to drill another hole for the grommet? I fail to see why it is necessary to remove the trim and cut a piece out. Why can't the upper hooks be just screwed straight through the trim and into the metal underneath with the self-tapping screw that comes in the kit? I think it would be secure and look neat and tidy. Unless there is some wiring or something else underneath the metal where you would drill I cannot see why it is so complicated a procedure just to fasten two plastic anchors for the top fastening of the rear net. Your views and advice would be most welcome, having been through the fitting process.
  10. Quickie. Where did you source your rear window Briskoda stickers from? Are they Internal or External please?
  11. oxonboxn. Thank you. I have never tried the concentrate for inside windows. I will see how I get on with it.
  12. Advice please on the best cleaning products to remove the GOO on the INSIDE of the windscreen. I am reliably informed that it sticks because of the lamination sheet between the two sheets of glass. I would be interested to hear/know of the best way to keep it clean. Driving into a low setting sunset the inside looks positively smeared up.
  13. Thank you all for your comments and observations. Here's praying for the warmer weather.
