Cheers Gee-man, what diameter braided pipe did you use?

Today I lost brake pressure or at least the brakes got very hard, on inspection I found a hose was damaged. I performed a quick bodge repair with tape, which has solved the problem for now. The hose goes from near the air box round the rear of the eng compartment to the servo. Does anyone know where these can be bought and how much they are?

The window works fine but the lock is still intermittent even after a soaking with wd40. Think I need a new lock motor, anyone got one?

Had a bit of success today. The door is open, for how long I don't know. I kept hitting the lock motor with a dead blow hammer whilst simultaneously operating the doors on the key fob, after a while the deadlock released and I was able to open the door. I have covered the lock motor in wd40 in an effort to stop the solenoid sticking again. Don't know how long it will last though.

Thanks for your suggestions but I am still having problems. I cannot get the door to unlock by using the lighter socket. Is there a way to test that there is power in the wires?

Also on my driver door when the door is open the warning light does not come on sometimes. Just wondered if this could be related somehow. As this would mean an electrical problem not mechanical.

How did you break the motor and will the door be able to be shut with it broken?

I got my rear door card off by removing the grab handle then the window switch and speaker surround, then if you tug on the plastic card the clips "should" come away allowing you to get the vinyl centre card out. You should now have access to the doors mechanisms. Please let us know how it goes and how you fix the lock. Also how much did you pay for the door motor?

This may make me sound like a novice but, how do you apply the 12volts? I am no good at auto electrics.

Did you sort your CEL light issue? I have a similar problem and am interested in how you sorted it. Also would it fail an Mot with that light on?

On the government website I can't find anything about dashboard warning lights, therefore surely they can't fail a car if they don't give notice of rule changes!

They make sure all the bulbs come on at start up. Looks like I have to pay for diags even though I know there is next to nothing wrong.

Mine passed last year but I heard that the test may have changed recently. Also I have an amber engine light on but the engine runs fine.

Hi there, for a long time my rear drivers side door has been locked and will not unlock. I have taken the card off from inside but I still cannot open the door. What I need to know is will this prevent my car from passing its mot next week?

My rear drivers door is also not opening. Has had the problem for about 6 months. At first I was not bothered as I don't use that door much but today took the car for MOT and the garage say it will prob fail if the door won't open. I need to fix this asap but cannot afford to take it to a dealer. The problem started as intermittent but got worse and now will not open at all. If I pull the inside handle it will not quite open and when I use the key fob it sounds like it is trying to open. Has anyone actually fixed this problem as I know quite a few of you have had similar problems.

Where is the sensor located? Is it easy to get to?

For a while now my temperature gauge has been reading erratically. It rises as expected after start up and then later on will suddenly drop to around 55 degrees then either go straight back up to 90 degrees or linger around 60 degrees then return to 90 degrees gradually. It makes no difference if the heater is on or off and also the outside temp doesn't affect it. I would guess that it is the sensor but would like to know if anyone thinks it could be the start of something worse.

Had a bump in my VRS last week and smashed my bonnet grille. It is only the black centre vented part that has smashed. But now I need a replacement. I am also considering painting the chrome section red to match the car. Can anyone let me know where to get a bonnet grille (preferably cheap) and give any hints on painting the chrome section. Cheers all.
