I speced one up to just shy of 29K to get the same spec as the misses ex S3 (New S3 came in at 38)...safe to say I didn't buy one, but spent 5k more than the mk3 occy on a 12month old Bi-turbo A6 with even more toys on and a whole new level in terms of performance and interior I love my Mk2 but not spending that on one, they're not the budget car they were once, oki the original Mk1 was a budget performance car with limited kit but still..ouch

2000 miles across France to be precise Fantastic first road trip in the VRS and family, car ran faultlessly at "toll road" speeds, and a pleasure to eat all those miles in. Love the fact French roads and Aires are empty :-) Time to plan next years journt! Serious bath time needed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

VRS CR 18" Tyres best choice?
Blanchie replied to aidanthomson's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Another one for the Uniroyals, just put 4 on my CR and binned the TDF tyres that were on it, Camskill have them at 76ea at the moment too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It only seems to do it in the morning and then only somtimes, the engine seems to have a bit of a shimmy at idle (extra diesel shake) it's fine while running and not noticed in the evening,. It's feels like fueling to me (changed filter last week to make sure it's not ****e in the fuel system), no faults logged and runs fine on the move. A good few years ago I had a Renault megan 1.9DT (Briefly and never again!) and that did the same and I ended up replacing the fuel pump. Ive had a search but only seem to find DMF issues, unless this is the first sign anyone expienced this on a CR Tdi VRS? Cheers

DSG's are ace, you're not getting old, the old school torque converter types that......................change gear are............nothinglikeDSG'sthatchangeso quickly Hahaha Seriously, when I bought the S3 I lined up a test drive of a DSG and a manual, I didn't drive the manual, you do have to alter your driving style a little but love it to pieces still:-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok can somone conform what I should have in my boot: Long story but bought my FL VRS from a Ford Dealer, when I first looked at the vehicle there was a wheel in the well (Space saver or Alloy I cant remember lol) but when I picked it up the boot flor was damaged and the wheel missing. After telling the dealer "whose playing funny buggers here" and over a weeks worth of phone calls and them telling me it would just be a can of gunge, they just so happened to have another Octavia they could swap the carpet (false floor) from and ordered me a new wheel, So All done and I was happy, untill decided to pu the car on the spare so I could give the wheels a proper clean this weekend....Although the spare is brand spanking new....it's 15" and therefore wont fit on the VRS, Ive now go to the stage I cant be arsed dealing with the dealler anymore. Thinking of just flogging the spare off and getting hold of a space saver or a single 18" VRS alloy, time to join Freedom :-) Skoda told me this morning it should be a can of gunge as they dont do 18" space savers Should I have a space saver, can of gunge or an alloy in there?

Have you tried swapping front back to see if the vibration/noise follows? Also worth checking to see if the hubs and spigots are clean so you get a good fit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hahahah love threads like this! Fiesta is awesome mate, had a few at work for development purposes and ford are on a winner with these. I'm sure you will but if you like it buy it (lease it whatever lol) I've not seen any chavs in St2's, plenty in Octavia's though :-p Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Power steering pump noise on full lock?
Blanchie replied to Bcc212's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Ephs possibly (electro hydraulic) basically an electric pump instead of an engine driven one, it's not fully electric assisted though I think, need to shove my head under there for a good look, mk3 has a good rack drive electric system though lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Clearly not selling Occy 3's that's why there's a 7 months delivery on new ones...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

anyone used Speedwells in Birmingham before? www.speedwells.co.uk The OCD in me wants the wheels perfect and thinking of blacklining them. Cheers

Standard VRS and Blackline?
Blanchie replied to Toonarmy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
When i picked mine up first thing a mate said was you need black alloys on that before i'd even heard of a blackline (Black leather and candy white), the wheels are not 100% so thinking of refurbing them locally in a matt Titanium (same as the TT) not a big fan of gloss black. Did the blackline have a black grill and inserts too?
