  1. Why don't you lay the parcel shelf on the seats.
  2. The best tool for removing the studs is a screw extractor. They are cheap to buy if you can't borrow any. http://www.screwfix.com/p/screw-extractor-5-piece-set/18643#product_additional_details_container
  3. mp1963 it may be your Tom Tom app rather than the iPhone or Skoda. I am able to connect the iPhone but I use Navigon instead of Tom Tom. But....I do have to connect using Bluetooth by firstly using the iPod to play a track. Once connected I pause the song. Now the satnav will connect and announcements come through the car speakers. The Navigon app will let me carry on listening to the music and will mute it out when an announcement is made. It also allows incoming calls to override the sound of the satnav. So to re-cap.... Play a tune on iPod Connect with bluetooth by pressing Media button Pause the track Open satnav app Listen to directions and start driving. :sun:
  4. My Bosch replacements whistle too but not until I reach 60mph. Maybe you need to drive a little faster
  5. I've just ordered one of these avalanche shovels. It takes up very little room and is sturdy and light. It's made by Mammut, a high quality Swiss company. A nice pressie from those who don't know what to get you for Xmas. A reasonable price for a quality product, £30 from Amazon. Mammut Alugator super light shovel. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shovels-Probes-Mammut-Alugator-Shovel/dp/B00FP32ACS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1386282103&sr=8-4&keywords=alugator .......oh yeah, plus £8 delivery!
  6. I've just replaced the fronts with the same type as the Yeti was supplied with, the Dunlop SP01's. I've been happy with them so why change. I don't think I could detect a difference in rolling resistance or petrol consumption so the sales blurb is lost on me. There was still some legal tread left on the tyres after 16,000 miles but I changed them as I'd damaged one of them after hitting a large pot hole in the dark. My driving style is not aimed at economy. I would never buy budget tyres as I feel the main brands offer better safety.
  7. @ejstubbs £133 is still £50 more than I paid. Try a local car spares and not a main dealer. I used PCS but unfortunately its not a national business. In my case the sliders were still ok. The grease was still......err.....greasy, not dried and gunked up. The sliders were still in good condition and they were working correctly. Those discs in Plumbers link above look a bit strange to me. They are painted all over, including the braking surface. I've not seen new ones like this before (not as though I've seen many though). Do some come fully painted? Also look at the groove in the front face. There's some lumps and bumps in there. Could this be corrosion having been sprayed over. Is it possible these are reconditioned! Look back at my pics of new discs and the grooves look as machined. But I may be wrong. Maybe I should skim my old ones up at work and spray 'em up, they would still be in tolerance!! Pic of Plumbers link....
  8. The Yeti is still under warranty. I'd best see the dealer then. Seems such a waste to change the whole unit just for a piddley LED!
  9. Does anyone know how to access the back of the instrument dials so I can investigate why my petrol gauge needle is no longer illuminated. It lit up briefly last night but was very dim so it might just be a loose connection. Is it easy to get to from the back or will the instruments have to come out?
  10. Fronts still ok Rears lasted 20 months/14,000 miles. I thought it was a material defect as I didn't expect them to corrode so quickly. But the good folk on this forum assured me it was corrosion, which indeed it was. Replaced them myself for £80 Here's the thread
  11. Zorro, what type of off-roading are you thinking of doing?
  12. Well done to Yeti-Man for getting 44mpg on a 70mph run. Realistically Zorro, for your type of journeys you won't see that kind of mileage out of a 1.8 petrol. I think I'm right in saying the 1.8 petrol is the worst in the Yeti range for economy. I didn't want a Diesel but wanted a petrol engine, with some umph. I also do short journeys too and from work (3 miles) which is killing my average mileage from new, which is at just under 27mpg***. On a 25mile run out to the hills of Derbyshire on 30-50mph zones I'll get an average of 34-36 mpg***. I don't drive in a way to try and use less fuel, I like to put my foot down when I can. Some on here comment on the 1.8 being fast. I wouldn't say it was fast but it is definitely no slouch. It is quite a torquey engine though and it will stay in 6th gear on motorway runs, even up a modest incline. ***according to the MFD
  13. Mine were ok and not jammed up. The grease was fine and not all hard like you found yours. But I'll keep my eye on it from now on.
  14. I'd never noticed it on the Yeti. I also went on which side the nozzle was, as CFB mentioned, Hehe Yeti Seat Ibiza Cupra
