  1. Just a quickie for anyone DIY-ing one of these. Mine was fitted by a dealer, and they didn't follow the instructions precisely. There is actually a huge space behind the head unit screen, and this is where the dealer put the Nav. unit itself. The advantage of this is that you only have to pop the head unit screen out to get to the SD card slot to do software or map updates, not fight the glovebox in and out each time!
  2. I've set my 'individual' drive mode up to be everything vRS but with D instead of S, then (since I discovered it in this thread!) I use the 'nudge back' to flip to S when I want the full experience rather than moving through all the drive modes with the vRS button, which I find a bit tedious. So I'm doing the same as you but in the opposite way!
  3. For me, the decision was a chunk of brand loyalty built up in my previous Mk2 VRS PD170 and also that there just aren't any SEAT dealers near to me......
  4. I think I'm right in saying that the ICE manual now covers all models, *car* models that is, as well as ICE models. I think the multi coloured jazzy ambient lighting only exists in Superbs? But in answer to your question, my MY16 vRS 230 does not have that screen....
  5. Hi all, I've had a good search through the forum, and I genuinely can't find an answer to this, but huge apologies if this has been answered before or I've missed something really obvious in the manual! Anyway, unlike an awful lot of the posts I've seen on here, I *don't* want to play tracks in random order across an entire SD card. Instead I want the bloody thing to play whole albums in the alphabetical order of the artists' name. The unit in my car seems absolutely set on playing albums in the alphabetical order of the album name instead. Is this some menu setting I've missed somewhere? My SD cards are formatted with folders for each artist then below that a folder for each album, which contains the actual tracks. I use MP3dirsorter to physically place the artist folders in alphabetical order and the tracks in alphabetical order within each folder on the SD card before popping it back into the car, which is a trick I learned with the ZENEC head unit I had in my MkII Help, it's driving me slightly nuts!
  6. The other issue here is that we're all assuming that GPS indicated speeds are somehow perfectly accurate, which is unlikely to be the case.
  7. I'm not seeing any particular mistakes in that, except for it having Amundsen and not Bolero - have they updated it since you read it do you think? I would say it's a tad expensive though - mine was a grand less than that, admittedly with 4K miles on it not 2K but still...
  8. Have a look at Fuelio - I've been using it for a couple of months and it looks quite similar to the screen shot posted above.
  9. I'm with you on this, FlyingGecko, although it would be nice if they were actually universal because I'd quite like a set for mine......
  10. I've just done a very similar swap to you, from a mk2 vRS PD170 to the 230 hatch. It's a little bigger all round, decently screwed together though you're going to take a bit of a hit on fuel consumption, whatever your driving style, but fuel economy isn't why you're buying a 230! I think the only thing that I find a bit annoying in everyday use is the auto stop-start, but that's not unique to this car, and you can turn it off. I'd say to just take it out for a test drive and see how it feels to you - mine just felt like 'home' straight away, so I bought it :sun:
  11. This was mine, a 1987 120L in Rowan Red. I love my vRS, but I'd have this back as a second car in a heartbeat!

    Estelle 120L

    My first car!
  13. It seems to handle my horrible Thames Estuary accent pretty decently, I actually wish you could do more with it, like changing the drive mode for example.
