Thanks for the tips.. I did do a search and found a few topics about it - but I did realise that alot were experiencing it along with cold weather - mine is not during cold weather, only while engine is cold.. :sun:

Car not under warranty anymore, I bought it second hand through a dealer, 2007 model with 95000kms.. the dealers here give you an initial 3 month period where they will repair any fault, or up to 5000kms (which ever comes first) and I've already done 10000kms.. Once it's warmed up it's perfectly fine, it's just that initial crank.. even if the engine is still cold, after I hit the gas to get it started, I could turn the engine off immediately and then start it up first go with no problem.. could the fuel lines be dirty/clogged up?

LOL I meant 950rpm's!! hahaha First thing I did when I got the car was to change the fuel, oil and air filters, plus oil change... and it's been 10000kms since, the filer should still be ok yeah?

Just wondering if anyone can help a man new to Skoda, with intermittent low revs when starting the engine, on a 2.0TDi pd140? When cranking the engine, it always fires up, but lately I have to give the accelerator a nudge to get it at 9500rpms. If I don't press down on the accelerator, it stays at around 550rpms for a couple of seconds and then eventually cuts out altogether! This was only an intermittent problem at first, but now happening more frequently. The weather here in Sydney is not that cold at all to make a huge difference I wouldn't think - 16 degrees Celsius being the average-to-coldest we get during summer. After I manage to start the engine, all other attempts to start it are fine, it just seems to be when I first start it for the day. Any help to this noob would be greatly appreciated!!

hahah whooopss..!! I got all my specs mixed up - PD 140 not 170(I wish it was 170bhp!) and 103KW not bhp... (damn heat is getting to my head haha) Oh, if it was up to me I'd be there already!! Much rather prefer the colder weather, and have always wanted to visit the UK..

Mines not a vRS but I have a 2.0 Tdi PD 170 BKD 103bhp and get the exact same thing, even though it's like 26 degrees celcius here. Sometimes I try start it up and it cuts out immediately, other times I start it with no problems but at very low revs, and then eventually cuts out.. Glow plug lights go out in about a second, and I usually wait until all the relays have clicked over.. :'(

Is there a way to adjust them individually? My drivers side headlight seems to be facing too low, and has the opposite effect where I get flashed by oncoming drivers who think my lights out...

haha the stealers here are pretty terrible!! That's why the government had to introduce a 'no lemon' policy into legislation, where if you buy a second hand car with less than 10 years, the stealers are oblidged to repair any fault up to the first 3 months or 5000km's, which ever comes first... but I guess even then they always find a way to screw over the general public.. I'm still waiting on a spare key almost 2 months later..

hahah sorry to rub it in!! If it makes any difference, we've had nothing but rain for the last 3 - 4 weeks.. Thanks for your time responding, it's actually sorted me out.. I had no idea that the fan speeds change as the temp settings changed.. I used to have it on at LO all the time, and thats when it when on to full speed.. but now after changing it to 21 as a test, the fan setting went to almost half way instead of full.. So I guess its not a fault after all.. thanks again for your time!! Much oblidged

Hi, Could you let us know what it was when you find out? I'm getting similar issues with mine at 120 - 130 km/h.. I also get the squeak when going over small bumps and speedhumps.. hope it's nothing major!

uh oh... are these symptoms sure way of telling the injectors are gone? I get some rough starting, revs at around 500 and then suddenly picks up to around 800, although sometimes it doesn't and just stalls.. I still have around 200 - 300 kms left before my 2nd hand warranty expires, which is not much. Is there anyway I can do any other checks so I can get the stealer to fix?

How do I check other settings? I know that whatever button I press to get the air con on makes it go on to the max fan setting.. If I turn the knob just one click, it still goes to max. It's odd, but if there are settings to adjust this, can someone give me a heads up? Much appreciated.. oh and it doesnt matter on the weather outside, it does the same thing wether its 30 degrees or 10...
