  1. It may well do, I have a Feb 2017 build Monte Carlo and haven't had any warnings, I felt on topping it up every 3 weeks or so now. No headlamp washers on mine.
  2. I got a Monte Carlo estate last year without the Amundsen Nav option and use Android Auto without issue. As malcster says, the driver/passenger can type or speak the destination in the move if necessary and it will route plan. It also offers you 3 routes, let's you know of developing congestion en route and re-routes effectively. As I said, I have never used Amundsen but my previous Ford Focus ST sat nav was dire in comparison and I don't think I'll ever order a factory nav system again if the car has Android Auto.
  3. I used the above guide as well when fitting my Street Guardian SG9665GC and it only took me about 40 minutes to fit. Have you looked for any example videos or read the Dashcamtalk forums to see what people say about the camera/footage it records? I'll see if I can get a photo of my set up later.
  4. Speak to the dealer and confirm what model it is. Then check some of the dashcam forums or youtube for example footage. There's no point spending that much on a dashcam that hasn't got the clarity you need when you need it. You can get much better systems for that money and learn to fit them yourself in an hour or two! If they give you a model number you'll also be able to see how much they're charging for the fitting and it's worth comparing to what other auto-electricians would charge.
  5. This is the camera I use - https://streetguardian.info/sg9665gcv3 is is fitted behind the rear view mirror and is very discrete. The quality is also rated amongst the best out there at the moment by a lot of dashcam reviewers and there have been no issues with reliability. And because I had to go looking for that link I see they've now released a front and rear camera set up which I will have to look into!
  6. I posted about this back in April when I picked my new Fabia up. Does it seem like there's a stiff notch before it fully seats into first? Mine still has it but either I've got used to it or it does it less often. I think I'm just over 2200 miles so it may be wearing in. I never bothered taking it to get checked out as I've previously been bitten by other manufacturers technicians causing more problems than they solve once they start disassembling parts!
  7. I use a household pressure washer. My routine goes along the lines of: Snow foam using pressure washer, Rinse, Decontaminate with iron fallout remover and tar remover, Rinse, Two bucket wash with lambswool mitt, Rinse, Dry, Quick detailed for shine and water beading layer.
  8. Over the first 2000 miles I've been getting about 48.6mpg with some tanks up to 51.4 mpg. 80% of my driving is through town driving to work, with a commmute of 8 miles each way.
  9. The 1.0TSI 110 is still new in the Fabia and I doubt many (if any) have been delivered. The 1.2TSI 110 in my Fabia Monte Carlo combi is giving about 48.4 miles per gallon (over the first 1900 miles). So the 1.0TSI should be very similar if not marginally better. Edit to add: Also my Monte is a manual on 17in wheels so the DSG with more economical tyres should be better. The turbo only kicks in and tanks economy if you want to accelerate fast, if your slow and smooth then the turbo doesn't need to kick in and on a 40mph road, stick in in 5th and watch the instant MPG sit at a steady 65mpg.
  10. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the solid white part. Police drivers have 4 exemptions in law - speeding, red traffic lights and keep left bollards - none of those apply to police drivers (when the vehicle is being used for police purposes - including responding to non-emergency jobs) and seat belts for drivers/passengers. We can ignore anything else if it would hinder our work, it is safe to do so and we can justify doing so (i.e no entry signs/solid white lines etc). Though if there's an accident because of it, expect to be prosecuted. The blue lights can be used as DRLs on certain bikes and cars. They're seen more often on the continent and are known better as cruise lights - to make police vehicles more easily seen on patrol.
  11. Once you've downloaded the AA app it will automatically use Google Maps for navigation when you're in the AA function.
  12. I take it you are plugging your phone in using a USB cable to the USB input when trying to use SmartLink/Android Auto and you have downloaded the Android Auto app? If so it should be simple to connect your phone via cable, click the menu hard button and SmartLink/Android Auto should be the first option on screen. SmartLink/AA does not work via Bluetooth.
  13. The Fuel Card, as you know, isn't really a fuel card. It's a simple pre-paid Mastercard in this case. Like all pre-paid debit cards the money loaded on the card is then subject to the issuers T&C's. For example you can't spend it on gambling websites or withdraw it all for cash, as such when the card issuer says any remaining value is lost after 12 months that is because that's their profit. Skoda paid the issuer £500 to load up £500 on the card, it is unlikely there would be a transaction/loading fee - the issuer only makes money if there is any left at the end of 12 months. R Raphael and Sons used to issue £25 3V pre-paid Visa cards which a certain Avios/Airmiles forum got wind of as you could earn a fortune in miles by buying them to use for paying tax bills/clearing household utility bills etc with as they had no activation fee. As a result R Raphael and Sons pulled the cards as they were producing thousands of them, selling them to retailers and all the cards were being emptied within days. I myself made in the region of 50,000 airmiles via Clubcard by churning them and got all my money back. I lost my Oakley Radar photochromatics at some point over the last year, they just seem to have disappeared. So I've been looking at either Fuel Cell or Mainlinks as replacements.
  14. I wouldn't be sure so sure it goes back to Skoda. R. Raphael and Sons who issued these get to keep the balances as far as I'm aware. If you go into Tesco (other retailers available) and see the Visa pre-paid gift cards those are issued by the same company and after 12 months they keep the money too. That's where they (the card issuer) make the money, they keep whatever isn't spent rather than having to give the money to the retailer. When I applied for mine in March this year I was told the issuer was changing but the terms and conditions remain the same, there's also a dormancy fee of £2/£2.50 a month if the card isn't used, so far I haven't let the missus know that I've received it and it's mainly used for petrol (though I've been eyeing up some niche Oakley sunglasses for the holidays!).
  15. Not everywhere, only certain forces will remove untaxed vehicles, hence why DVLA have their own ANPR vans, clampers and removal trucks. In my force we don't even create a call log for reports of untaxed vehicles unless they are causing an obstruction or suspected stolen/false plates. We don't even go out to abandoned vehicles as that's the councils domain now too.
