  1. Hi there Same thing happened to me. Was looking for Chinese ones on eBay (Wooden because of Elegance model) but they were LHD, but considerably cheaper than the ridiculous price from the stealers. Managed to source one from an online breakers yard (Can't remember which one now) but when I went to pick it up, it was with the whole blimmin unit. BUT the gear knob was separate, with the button IN. I told them it was useless and I only needed the knob, so they sold it to me for £10! With the aid of some gaffa/duck tape, I managed to pull the knob out long enough to whack it on the stalk. V Happy!
  2. Hi all. I've been looking around this forum for my answers but found this specific problem. A while ago, my passenger side door wouldn't lock with the fob (all others did) which also meant that the alarm wouldn't double flash the hazards (although the red flashing light on the drivers door would flash and the alarm was armed) and after looking around the forums, I just presumed it was the broken solder joints within the mech... HOWEVER, one perplexing thing about this problem was that.... THE DOOR WOULD UNLOCK WITH ONE PRESS (which should only open the drivers door?!!!!) but not lock, so I would just physically push the knob down after my passenger had exited. Eventually it stopped unlocking too, so I have to physically open the door with the handle to let my passenger in and physically pull the knob up....so I forgot about it. Now the same thing has started happening with the rear passenger door in that it will unlock with one press of the fob (which it shouldn't do) but won't lock. Any ideas? I don't think it's the solder thing as it does actually work to unlock.....
  3. I've got a Skoda Superb 2.5Tdi 2005. Mine does the same thing. With the key in the ignition (but not running) it's very obvious. My mechanic sat in the passenger seat and then pressed the 'recirculate' button on the aircon/vent system and it stopped. He said that it's probably some motorised flap where the flap has got stuck and the motor is turning around losing its thread. Sounds about right, but how to fix it, I don't know!
  4. Hey DieselV6 - I've bought some aftermarket DRLs and want to wire them the same way. There's a multiconnector on the back of the headlight switch - is there not a corresponding wire for the TFL pin within that loom that goes somewhere else (relay?) that you can tap into more easily? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jack
  5. Hello all - this is my first post, so be gentle with me! I have a 2005 Superb I, 2.5tdi Elegance - I would like to fit DRLs like the 1st picture and have bought some. I have been looking all over the place how to wire them in properly - maybe wire them into the fusebox? Link them to the sidelights? I have read on a few forums that there is a DRL (or TFL as it's known in Germany) pin on the headlight switch (pin 3).....so if there is a DRL/TFL pin, is there a corresponding wire on the loom that plugs into the back of the headlight switch? If so, where does it go? I have also read that there is a relay (173) in the relay/fuse panel. (or is this only in later models?) And if there is a relay, is there a wire within the loom supplying all the front lights that you can just connect to? Sorry for all the questions, but I am spending too many hours ready thru VW/skoda web pages trying to find an easy & proper way to install these...in the hope that someone here can show me the light (if you'll pardon the pun) Thanks Jack
