  1. Many thanks to all who have responded on this issue and for the advice and information provided. I was unaware that Murray Skoda in Newton Abbot have decide to stop selling Skodas - probably a wise decision given my experience with them. One does not really want to resort to a legal battle as the only winners are the Lawyers, and I would have thought Skoda would have had an interest in trying to preserve their reputation when things do go wrong. Matter still in discussion - will up-date the community when the dust has settled
  2. In July 2014 my Elegance 2.0 TDI 4x4 developed a knocking problem, this after 2 years of ownership from new - at 24000 miles. After a couple of abortive attempts to rectify the problem Murray Skoda at Newton Abbot refused to investigate any further and literally told me to go away! Even Skoda Customer Services could not get Murray Skoda to respond - so onto Carrs Skoda at Exeter. They have valiantly tried to resolve the issue and have changed CV joints, transmission transfer box, rebuilt the gear box and tried many other things - all to no avail. Eventually Skoda Technical sent a man to investigate - who requested the change of the Diesel Particulate Filter - again no good. Now they are proposing to change the turbo-charger and other items - but after 10 months of agony I have said "enough". I want a replacement vehicle and have advised Skoda Customer Services to this effect. Now they are failing to respond to me. Is the Skoda Warranty worth anything? Advice please
  3. Apologies for the delay in replying to this query - but I have only just had my 2012 Yeti 4x4 TDI Elegance with both front and rear parking sensors, fitted with a tow-bar. I did not originally order the vehicle tow-bar prepack but relied on the fitter to install a Witter detachable bar with Volkswagen / Skoda dedicated wiring loom. This was taken through to the Fuse box were two additional fuses were fitted. The job was done at my home by PCTowbars based in Plymouth, who did an exceptionally good job which included recoded the vehicle The tow-bar fitting is accessed through a small cut-out under the rear bumper and the electrics (7 pin) fold away when not in use. Once the trailer is connected the dashboard multiscreen shows that the front sensors are operational and the image of a trailer appears to remind one its there. Total cost was sub £500 and considered good value.
  4. A big thank you for the excellent instructions and information provided by the Great Yeti. Used them to install a TomTom on my brand new Yeti Elegance 4x4 and all works perfectly. All much appreciated.
  5. Thank you to all those who replied to my original query on Admin Fees. To clarify, it is the supplying Dealer who is insisting on the Admin fee of £200 to change an order specification. Whilst this can be considered by all Skoda Customers to be unfair, further investigation has revealed that the Dealer in question (who will remain namless) brought in this restriction because of previous Customers constantly changing their required specifications. This led to cars being supplied not to the expected "final" specification and constenation to all. Given the high demand for Yetis and the long lead time, it is unrealistic to cancel the order - and of course it is not practical to fit this Factory option oneself. So, whilst I continue to look forward to my new Yeti being delivered in, hopefully, January, it will not have the front folding seat option as at £100 plus £200 it is too expensive.
  6. I have had a Skoda Yeti 140 Elegance 4x4 on order for 4 1/2 months and now, through Briskoda, have become aware of the Folding Front Passenger Seat option. I asked if my order could be changed to include this option without affecting the anticipated delivery date of Jan 2012. Positive reply - but on top of the Option cost of £100 have been quoted an additional £200 Admin Charge, which makes it a very expensive option! Has anybody else had a similar experience please?
