  1. A colleague at work had the 'all 4 windows down' problem with his new style 06 company Passat. He would lock it and when he came back some time later or even over night outside his house the windows would all be down. The dealer replaced some part of the cars wiring to cure the fault. It was definatley not the key fob as it has not done it since the work was carried out. I shall endeavour to find out from him what work exactly was carried out
  2. I have had the exact same thing - 3 days of CD error - booked the car into the dealer to sort it and then low and behold the next morning it just worked!?! It must be a more common problem than we realise
  3. I smacked mine on the roof lining of the channel tunnel train while opening the boot when my car was 2 days old!
  4. On or off in under 10 mins by myself. You do get quicker with practice. To be honest though they have been on now for the last 5/6 months and I forget they are even there unless on the odd occasion you hear them whistle. It's a company car so I don't really look after it if you know what I mean. I paid
  5. I have Thule aero bars on mine. No whistling under 100mph in the dry but they whistle like a barsteward in the wet over 70mph, especially during the cold winter months.
  6. Powerklick is fitted to my 2.0 TDi. It took about 20 mins to fit. The harness that comes with it plugs into the side of the cylinder head into a large round plug and then the OEM plug goes into the 'new' harness. The box also has a 12v feed that you take from the battery. I popped 4 small holes into the top of the plastic battery cover and cable tied the tuning box to the top of that. Figures claim 138bhp to 165bhp. I reckon that is about right - it certainly feels it. It does not smoke any more that I have noticed. It can cause alot more wheel spin in the wet! It has been off and on my car twice now while being serviced. I can now literally fit or remove it in 5 mins if needed with no sign that it was ever there. I paid
  7. Just to throw something else into the mix - my company car is a 2.0 tdi 140 and the missus has a 2.0 FSi 150 Sport Audi A3. The Audi cannot keep up with the skoda in 'real world' driving. That is 2nd gear rolling off roundabouts and overtaking through the gears etc. In a standing start the Audi is a little bit quicker but only by about a car length upto about 70mph. We tried it all one one day not long after I got the skoda, each driving each others car and vice versa. The missus really regrets not getting the diesel. She prefers mine to driving her own FSI
  8. Mine is fixed also now that the radiator/condensor thing mounted in front of the car radiator has been replaced and the gas recharged for about the third time, it's blowing nice cold air - but god knows what they have done now because the air control k n o b does not now change the direction of the vents???? It is just stuck on windscreen????? So it is back to the dealer yet again now to have this sorted as I noticed it when picking the car up today at 10 past 5. I am getting right royally p!ssed orf. :thumbdwn:
  9. My air con packed up a few weeks ago and the dealer had trouble finding the problem. After putting some sort of colouring into the system and using a flourescent torch the problem was traced to a small hole in the condenser matrix that sits onto the front of the car radiator. Proabably caused by a stone or such being kicked up. New one to be fitted next week-will report back if this IS the fault.
  10. Please tell me more about this Garmin mounting disk? I have ordered a Garmin nuvi to replace my tomtom- Had my tomtom robbed from outta the car last week right outside my office window, literally the first time I forgot to take it out 5 seconds and one smashed window later - gone. On the smashed window note - much trouble getting the glass replaced because the inner door panel behind door trim is not screwed on but riveted. Rivets had to be drilled out and then replaced after fitting new glass- Auto windscreens had to take it to the depot to do. Bloke said all VW badged cars have nuts not rivets?:thumbdwn:
  11. 3 times mine has come off - it's a company car so I don't worry that much. The first time the dealer tried to tell me it was beacuse I had used the wrong washer fluid - Dont think so I said - you filled it up 3 days ago while it was being serviced! The 2nd and 3rd times they have fixed it in 5 mins while I waited so it obviously a design/connector failure they just cannot be arsed to sort properly.
  12. Fitted mine at the weekend - Outstanding Got it off ebay for 250 notes 'buy it now' from dieselbox Great after sales service from Andy (the owner I think), was fitted in half an hour and really makes a difference They claim 140 to 165 bhp - I can believe it http://www.dieselbox.co.uk/1.html
