  1. Thank you. That didn't come up in the search that I did. The Varta 027/D15 went in fine (now £77 from Battery 2U) and no issues with electric windows or dashboards like Blackpool illuminations. Surprisingly easy to remove the old battery too.
  2. Thank you. That didn't come up in the search that I did. I did find djgilsons post on this subject which suggests that the Varta 027/D15 is bfine for my Yeti.
  3. I'm relying on the simplicity of this statement by Llanigraham as I intend to change the battery on my 31,000 mile 2011 CR 140 Yeti. OEM battery is a Varta and Skoda has been flagging it as RED, i.e. not holding charge, for several months now but I can't fault it. I've parked the car up for a week and it starts sweet as ever. However, it's going to be parked for 4 weeks soon at an airport so rather than risk it I'll change it. Every battery supplier says it should have a 175x278x190mm battery all of which are much greater amh than my OEM one and are larger than my felt box. I guess they're taking their cue from Varta which says this but it seems wrong to me. I believe that I should get a Varta Silver 027/D15 which has a close enough amh to my current battery and is the same size as that. Can anyone tell me that I'm wrong before I commit myself to a buy?
  4. I had the call too yesterday. Said I'd read their latest plea but was having none of it. Quoted 'Honest John' source re problems with Tiguans. Could have been talking to the wall!. Absolutely clueless.
  5. Got my letter telling me to arrange a 'fix' appointment . Ignored it in view of Tiguan problems. Skoda dealer rang last week to set up an appointment to do the fit. Told them absolutely clearly that I did not want it done it yet in view of Tiguan problems. No problem. At the same time I made an appointment to switch my summer tyres over to winter tyres. Took the car in today, usual pitches to do a fuel cleanse (cobblers, I always use V-Power diesel), AirCon service (no thanks, always run with AirCon on), Brake Fluid change (no, that can wait 'til the fluid is 3 years old) so just the tyre change authorised, in writing. Blow me, ring up to ask if the car is ready this afternoon and they say it just going to have the emissions fix!! I said it better bl**dy well hadn't as I'd already told them I didn't want it now. Went to pick it up and they'd registered the fix as 'declined ' on the UK Skoda database, with an assurance that I could get it done anytime in the future.
  6. 'The Yeti exterior rear view mirrors can't electrically fold. Edit: as of sometime in the middle of 2010 all Elegance spec Yeti's now get electrically folding mirrors as standard regardless of you ordering the electric seat or not.' I have a 2011 build Elegance without electric seat and I cannot fold the door mirrors electrically :(

  8. Nice ones!...but I'll stick with Amazonian especially as it's no longer available....creates it's own individuality amongst us dark green car lovers
  9. I'm going to disagree strongly...I much prefer my Amazonian Green
  10. But think of the rarity value now
  11. Tested a new Sportage last year at the same time as considering a Yeti. Major issue with Sportage was the very very light steering at low speeds which I felt would be a disadvantage on frozen surfaces. Also a bit too bling inside and poor threequarter rear vision. Also tested Kuga (clutch pedal too high), Honda CRV (very good but price far too high for what you got), X5(17mpg around town..no thanks) and X1(logic of rear driven variable 4WD defeated me). Yeti won hands down after testing 1.2, 110 and 140 (final choice).

    Yeti 2

Looks like someone swiped the grill off a Kia Cee'd
  13. The sharp cut off on the Xenon headlamps, drives me mad because they're supposed to be load compensating hence the absence of a manual control but the beam is far too short with only one or two up front. ...and that blasted mirror button...so tacky!
  14. Spotted a White 1.2 Tsi french regd Yeti in Caromb, Provence recently. It belongs to the family who own the (very good) pizza shop there and it's used for local deliveries. Only Yeti I've seen in France so far. Still love the colour of my Amazonian Green Yeti.
  15. Hmm, noted. As this incident differed from those already read in the forums I took the car to the local Skoda dealer (Startins) who rapidly determined that the fault lay in the Window Regulator that was showing sporadic failing in the basic settings. They reset the basic settings FOC. Good service. But the prob is back again in the cold weather. Driver's window stays shut but other three drop 3" after locking the car!
