Think I'll just take it to a local VAG specialist and have them diagnose it. Hoping it won't cost too much. Christmas is'a coming.

The creak is quiet in the audio but definitely present in the background. Really loud in the car too. Edit: 25 seconds onwards there's a series of the creaking sound over and over.

Hi all, Need some help...for a while now my car has been making creaking sounds whenever I go over bumps, put my foot down on the throttle or over pot holes. Recently, it failed the MOT purely on corroded suspension rubber bush so had it repaired/replaced. I thought this may be the problem but it appears the sound is still present!! If anyone could have a listen and maybe (long shot I know) diagnose or recommend for me then that would be great. Sound is coming from the front nearside it would seem. I am comtemplating this double DIN unit http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-KW-XR611-Double-Ready-Radio/dp/B003E6VEKW however don't know what I need other than the facia for the top of the player. Do I need any other cable adapters etc? I currently just have the stock tape player and have never changed anything to do with it. Any help appreciated!

I'm not sure. It was in there before I got the car. Googled the model of battery (GM44T7) and there are a lot of things from around 2003ish if that's any solid date at all? :S it's apparently an Astra battery... The battery has an indicator showing a green light meaning it's charge is fine too.

Would there be a possibility that it'd be the cause of the PAS issues? I'll be replacing the battery anyhow.

Just checked my battery and it says it's 42Ah. I'm getting all the common symptoms to do with PAS issues and I've read my fabia 1.4 16V needs at least 62Ah? Now, I know nothing to do with cars other than how to change the oil, put petrol in and change wiper fluid (in that order) so would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

When I first bought the car a month ago the drivers heated seat worked fine, but after a few days of having it the heated seat on the drivers side no longer worked. I have checked the connection under the seat (green and red plugs) and everything is fitted correctly and in place properly. I know the chances are the element has died but I really want it to be something else as, from what I hear, it's an absolute pain to replace... Any help appreciated

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've got the car booked in for a Major Service so hopefully changing all the individual bits and bobs will eventually sort out my fuel problem. It seems to be getting worse and worse and I'm positively certain that the car hasn't had a service in a very long time. Now to sort out all the other little niggles the car has!

When I bought it there was no service history so I think it's definitely way overdue. It feels like it should have a little more poke in it though. I'll have it serviced and see how it is after that. Thanks

Hi, To cut a long story short, my car is terrible on fuel economy. I can get a consistent 40mpg and my daily commute to work is 15 miles on an A-road and a motorway so it's in no way stop-start travelling. I drive it sensibly, rarely have to 'floor' it, but it's just terrible on fuel... E.g, I put £10 in the other day and it got me 40 miles...£25 in on Saturday and I've done 90 miles and it's almost in the red. I haven't the slightest about what might be causing this so any help would be appreciated. I know for sure I should be getting more out of it than that. Could it be to do with where I fill up? I can only assume there are crap Petrol Stations to fill up in and decent ones. 9/10 I use Tesco, Sainsburys or Shell (all nearby home or work). It's a 1.4 Fabia Elegance 16V 2000 model. Help/advice appreciated!

Thanks for the response. I think I'll try the 20 minute theory out when I get home later. Bit daft having it at 20 mins! I've also tried VAGCOM and it's showing no errors. Really strange...
