  7. Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI (PD100) in Comfort Trim. 'Petrol' green 2001 X reg 128k mileage - might increase slightly as used occasionally Tax until end of July 2014, MOT until 2nd December 2014. Some service history, last serviced in December 201 Front electric windows, remote central locking, immobiliser/alarm, front fog lights Has heated electrically adjustable wing mirrors ABS, ASR, Isofix child seat attachment JVC MP3 CD/Radio (do have original Skoda radio if required), Air Conditioning, 14" Spirit alloy wheels, rear spoiler, body coloured bumpers Cam belt was changed at 87k. All paper work accounted for. 2 keys and 1 alarm fob Has never let me down in over 2 years of ownership. Had track rod end replaced at last MOT, also had a new MAF last year. Car is sounds, starts every time even after it has been sat for a couple of weeks The car does have some marks which are to be expected from a car of this age. On the passengers air vent a couple of the slats don't move, but these are cheap to replace. The left skirt has a scuff that was there when I bought the car I'm looking for £1,400, but no reasonable offer declined.   8. Don't really want to sorn the volvo as the brakes should be fixed in a week or so. I asked AXA about temporarily adding the fabia and they quoted £30 a week! If I took out the new policy and told them I'm selling the car would that be an issue?
  9. No I wouldn't expect any NCB. Just thought it's cheaper to get a full policy and pay monthly than to get temp insurance. Forgot to say I'll be driving the furby till it sells cos the volvo needs rear brakes doing first. But it was cheap enough so it's no problem.
  10. Hi all, Unfortunately, after 2 years of happy motoring, I'm selling my 2001 Fabia. I'm up sizing to a 2003 Volvo S60 D5 due to an increasing family size. I know that my furby needs to be insured whilst I sell it due to the law changes, but my question is this: Can I take out a full new 12 month policy to cover the car, paying by monthly installments (£35 deposit/£35 per month) then cancel when it's sold, or take out a temporary insurance policy for a couple of weeks (quotes between £100 - £200 for 2 weeks cover!). It seems daft to spend more on the temp cover when I can pay a cheaper deposit then cancel when sold, but would this have issues legally, so to speak? I have thought about adding the new car to my current policy then removing the furby, but AXA are being a pain and want to charge me a fortune for doing so! Thanks,
  11. Yeah I did thanks mate - saved me a fortune them shocks & springs did! I'm thinking about getting bigger alloys when I can afford it, maybe just some standard vrs ones and some decent tyres. Then move on to brakes and then performance.
  12. Hi Luke, Yeah am still standard at the mo. Think mine went like yours did, noticed it just got more slow and didnt have much push. I'm loving it now though, thrashing it around. Think I definitely need a remap now, and some better tyres!
  13. Thanks guys, Got the new MAF from ECP today, shall get it fitted in a few days. If the car is on a 'safe' map for now, can wait to get the new MAF fitted to see the performance - should be exciting! Thanks
  14. Hi all, Recently I've noticed that my 2001 PD100 has been really sluggish - no real pull through any of the gears and wouldn't pass 75 unless going down hill! After reading this forum a bit I disconnected my MAF. What a difference - it pulls like it used to a few years ago, and it feels like it has a lot more power. Now, I'm getting a new MAF from ECP tomorrow, but I don't have an engine light on, and there seems to be nothing wrong with the car whilst the sensor is disconnected - so my question is 'What are the long term effects, if any, of not having the MAF connected?' Just asking as I've been running it all weekend and will be tomorrow and maybe a couple of days after until I get the new part fitted - just don't want to do any major damage to the engine.
