  1. Octavia 1.9tdi 90BHP has dropped a valve writing off the engine Would it be worth getting a new engine, its on a 2004 plate or would it be worth having the engine rebuilt:confused: Is there anyone out there that knows the extent of damage one dropped valve can make:confused:
  2. I was thinking about selling mine but the prices are a bit up and down depending where you look? Whats good for an 05 VRS Totally standard 28000 miles???
  3. Hello Thinking of selling my 05 VRS with 26000 miles on it due to buying an house with a mortgage strapped to a space rocket My question really is what realistic price do you get for these now and how easily do they sell. Looked on autotrader and it values it about 8800. Is this ballocks. What have you guys and gals experienced  Cheers Skuda
  4. Hello Just looking at the thread and none of the pics display:confused: Does anyone have a pic of a red VRS dropped 30mm with the original alloys:thumbup: Im thinking  of doing mine Cheers
  5. Has anyone experienced this with a VRS 05 Reg When idling the engine feels lumpy. The revs don't oscilate but it feels like its trying to cut out or like the fly wheel isnt balanced:confused: Any ideas:D Its still under warranty but i wont to go armed with the facts as these annoying problems never show up on the computer Thanks
  6. Recently drove to spain and back in mine. Sorted
  7. Think they are centrifugaly cast, this shouldnt have happened
  8. Demand the lot be changed over, It could be a bad batch of castings from the factory. If there interested I reckon they will want to do some NDT (Non distructive testing) on the other 3. Not good, ask for some 19" RS4 Wheels as comp
  9. Get an AMD one click, you can put it back to normal when it goes to the garage. If your after a VRS, make me an offer
  10. Yeh the supagard is the same as on ebay. Make sure you have a garage to do it in. Dont think the stuff likes direct sun light. Good luck with the new car
  11. Try Supagard. Wax the car and it apparantly doesnt need re waxing for 3 years. This is backed up by a three year warranty. Applied it to mine and it looks the dogs when clean. It protects from usual crap salt, acid rain, bird ****. For the interior supagard also do an interior product. It forms a protective barrier, a must with half white seats and a dog who jumps all over it. For running in the deaer also said to me you can drive it like you have robbed it but coming from an engineering background i know this to be ballocks. At first id say dont take it over 2000 revs until the engine has wormed up. From then gently increase RPM but dont take it over 3000 revs. Also dont put access amounts of load on the engine by thrashing it to 3000. After about 800 ish miles it should be run in. 800 miles should give the bearings and moving parts time to bed in and loosen up. Also when you have been on long runs allow the engine to idle for 2 minutes before switching off, this will allow the turbo enough time to slow down and cool down. Hope the above helps, i did this on my VRS and it cleans up like its just left the factory and thats after having the dog in it. At 8000 miles the oil has never needed topping up and is still cleanish
  12. Thanks, ill take a drive over at the weekend
  13. Can anyone tell me if you can buy a sub from skoda to go in a Fabia VRS  Standard Stereo sounds OK but could be better
  14. Because my girlfriend went away for the weekend so i had an impulse buy. Yep worked out in the end, she hasnt spoke to me for the 6 months. Pure bliss
