  1. Cannot remember the dealer group but as above they have their own 'system' so a customer can check the status of their car. However the system is solely down to himan input, thus if it's not updated for a week or 2 you will see no change. The thing I don't get with this is why I customer should check the progress of their car, that's up to the sales chappy or a specific person within the company. All dealers have computer diary systems, these are for such scenarios as updating their customer every few weeks. A call to your dealer to request an update should do, although some members choose to speak direct to SUK for updates, although I am against this as it is a dealers job to do :-)
  2. Still wrestling with DVLA for my license mate, bloody nuisance. If that comes off I will be parting with some dough for an RS
  3. Congratulations mate, how time flies. Seems like only yesterday you was being a PITA about changing your car (again) and mentioning the Dad wagon Big congratulations though fella and good luck to both of you.
  4. In a way, the PITA that the Citigo-go has been has actually given birth to the Yeti RS, and possibly helped to steer you in to yet another Nissan AND start the ST racing? Granted, it won't be used nearly as much as you would have wanted to (but I think I'd be legal to rag it round a track, just to stretch it's legs ) even if once in a while, just to have a 'play' with the bellends in their 'wooomph tssshhh' all blow no go jobbies. Sadly the thing has been such a long wait that, for you at least, the novelty seems to have worn off, but there's still a massive intrigue in this. I know it's easy to spend other peoples money but this does deserve to be finished, Yeti RS - one off, Siberian Camo Roomster - one off, Yellow Rapid on those stunning rims - one off........ need I say more? What if we all donate a tenner, should get a couple of grand?
  5. If he bought it on Madbid it'd owe him more than the £80k he could have bought it for
  6. The 'issue' here looks like ordering deposits are being taken (and fair enough, a builder wouldn't start your £25,000 extension without some money upfront). This, when I worked down Prestons was incase you pulled out it would AND DOES cost the dealer £500 to have the car removed from their stock. The actual problem is that even though most of you have paid an ordering deposit the ACTUAL deposit (part of the agreement with VWFS) needs to be taken by them, which should be 10 days or so after vehicle collection. The reason I am scratching my head on the money outstanding, why can't a debit card be paid straight back on to? It takes a button monkey 2 minutes, you've then got your money back, the car and all that is left is to await VWFS to take the initial rental - is it rocket science or an I seriously missing something???
  7. When i was young i suffered terrible with warts - both hands and both knee were smothered. Had them all frozen when i was about 13 or 14, hurt for a bit, but as said, only for a few seconds depending on how much of a wimp you are Never had a flare up since..... touch wood
  8. When I was in hospital last year, for 4 weeks I watched so many people filtering in and out for a quick fag. I even asked the fella who was in the bed opposite me why he was still doing it - he was in for a triple (IIRC) by pass, he said veru bluntly "if its my time to go then so be it, I could walk out of here after the op and get hit by a bus"! In a way I sort of thought that I made him right, but then just thought 'what a d1ck', he had 4 kids, was only early 40's, why not even give yourself a bit more of a chance?! From the day I had the stroke I haven't touched a fag (15 months now) and the biggest part of that was because ofy kids. I've got a weak ticker, am on 5 different types of med a day, all to take the strain off of the heart, plus warfarin, so even drinking has gone out of the window. I'll have a cider, maybe 2, once a week but no more, because I want to watch my boys grow up. Everyones different, will power helps, but some people obviously don't give a flying one about whether they live another day or 10 years and don't care about those that they will hurt when they do kick the bucket.
  9. As you have a settlement, say £6000, this is the amount that they will settle. Can I assume that the car is not worth more than this, if so, you could be having the wool pulled?! With regards to another payment coming out, as the settlement figure is for 90 days you will, once the first figure is paid by Mr Dealer get back this payment (and you Andy), just make sure that the settlement is paid 1) as quick as poss and 2) you have some confirmation as if not, and the dealer leaves it a bit longer the next payment will come out and this will then, if left for more than the 30 days be your new settlement, thus you won't get back the latter payment. HTH
  10. When the SE Business was initially released it was, as it says on the tin, aimed at businesses, but after not too long it was brought in to the private side of preceedings as well. BUT, any discounts on the 'SE B' are a lot lower as the car was, again, aimed at businesses, it was the P11d and BiK that was key. Unless this has all changed over the past month or so that I've not sat at a desk.
  11. Pay for it upon collection! If the car has an imperfection, ding etc, you're half way to being bu66ered in trying to get a refund etc as the car will have been invoiced and more than likely taxed, V5 sent, new keeper details updated on Skoda system - all in all a PITA.
  12. VWFS/VW UK will be the registered keeper, you are the long term driver of the vehicle. As mentioned you won't even see a V5 over the next couple of years. Shouldn't make too much, if any difference through most insurers.
  13. There could be any number of reasons for a delay. With it being a PCH deal the dealers do have to get everything signed and sealed before handing the car over, but 10 days does sound a bit of a stretch! If someone has c0cked up the CH docs this would have an affect as well as everything would need to be changed. Was an option missed off of the quote? Again this will make a delay as the build price will differ from the quote price?! There's many other reasons but fingers crossed you get that phone call quicker
  14. Another cracking vid mate. Wish I could have made it last night, but with no means of getting there it would have been a right royal PITA.
  15. So a wee bit of a revival on this one as a member has posted a new thread so I'll bore you all with the details..... ..... as you all know, along with my health Prestons closed its doors at the end of April so I was nigh on jobless until I (rather swiftly) was taken on by Trans City. Sadly over the past few months my health in general has not been what it was, coupled with longer hours and more travel I have decided to take leave, recharge my batteries and hopefully jump back in to work (fingers crossed at TC as they're a decent bunch). Sadly I feel like I have taken 3 steps forward and 2 back; maybe, in hindsight, I should have taken a couple of weeks off before jumping straight over but I suppose I just wanted to be working, even though my body was clearly telling me no. I'm hoping on a few weeks or so and I should be able to gauge how the ticket is feeling but you just never know. So for now it's recouping and still arguing with f*cking DVLA on my license. I will still be floating around but will not have access to any systems so I am just lowly ol'me for now BUT if anyone would be so kind I'll gladly share some fuel costs on a few meets.
  16. Sorry only just seen this but I would have thought this would have been advertised by SUK by now
  17. Is it me or is the boot VERY open? Tried to enlarge the pic but no joy. It looks nigh on upright? As this is on air does it dance like one of those Yank job Chevvy Pimp Wagons? :peek:
  18. That's where I tip my hat to Richard. He could have gone all out and had this slammed on its backside with a couple of large exhausts but he's taken it the complete opposite - look at the blue one in the photo, not saying it's a bad thing at all, it's nice to be different though. He's commissioned it to be as discreet (as a GTR can be) as possible. From the outside, you'd look at it and think lovely motor, you then open the bonnet and then realise the amount of work that has gone in to it. Richard, surely this one is a keeper, isn't it? Oh, and I must be due to thumb a lift soon
  19. IIRC there's a little hook type tool in the boot. At a closer glance you will see a slight opening on the badge, hook goes in, badge comes out. So no need to take the wheel off. I think that's right anyway
  20. As above, VWFS are the legal owners of the car so will appear on the V5. You are the driver of the car just on a long term basis.
  21. Changing options, spec etc once the car has been ordered really is a minefield for dealers. If you can change your order, unless there are production issues it shouldn't move the car back on its build week. Then you have build times, which at present are good for what they have been. If you can't find a car that's already been built then a fresh order it is, rule of thumb at present will be 8 - 12 weeks but (for us at least) it seems to be closer to 8 and that's including delivery of ~3 weeks. This is where it can get tricky - if you're working on say 8 weeks, less 3 weeks for delivery that's 5 weeks from order to build, bear in mind that the factory want to get that order lined up WELL in advance to save any **** ups. On average at the moment cars are going from status 10 (accepted) to status 20 (confirmed to be built) within 2-3 weeks from order BUT the order will usually be locked in the system BEFORE we can even see that it is. It's not like it was 2, 3 or 4 years ago when build times were anywhere between 3 and 9 months. You'd have to say now that if you are looking to order a car, make sure the spec you order is what you want, just to save any heartache a few weeks later.
  22. AFAIK early termination does not affect your credit rating. As long as you have paid half of the agreement and each payment has been made on time I see no reason why it should affect your RIGHT to terminate. By all means, I would definitely be double checking with the finance company but also someone like Experian to confirm the above. Granted no finance company wants the car handed back but it is more of an inconvenience to them. Do bear in mind though that as you may be exercising your right to cancel and walk away, this will be subject to the overall condition of the car and I'd be pretty certain an assessor would be sent out.
  23. As of today until the end of June all Superb orders being financed using the 2.9% PCP route will receive a £3,000 deposit contribution. I've had a look out there and there is very much a mixed bag of S through to L&K's, mainly diesels but a small scattering of petrols and again a mixture of hatches and estates. For anyone considering a 'new' Superb this is something well worth thinking about.
  24. You're own (share in) a racing team - nice  I sense a few holiday forms going in once you're up and running and I've still not seen the bloody Yeti Legendary stuff as always mate
