  1. Thanks for the advice! Looking forward to seeing where I am going!
  2. After a nail biting trip over Gelligaer Common last night in my Roomster, I began to think that my eyesight wasn't quite as good as it was. I couldn't see the edge of the road, potholes etc.I'm not exactly in the first flush of youth. It comes as a relief to find out that the headlights are just USELESS and it's not just me! I think step one has to be a trip to Halfords tomorrow to get some brighter bulbs for the dipped lights. I've got the variety with separate main & dip bulbs. Anything to improve things a bit, then maybe some front 'fog lights'. I've read the guide on the forum about how to retrofit them.
  3. After 140 000 miles, all but 20 000 inflicted on the car by myself, it's goodbye to my old Fabia Mark I 1.4TDI estate. It passed the last MoT with no problems, but there were two potentially very expensive problems with the car on the horizon. First, gearbox on the way out and second, steering rack leaking a bit. Not worth sinking money into a 12 year old car. So on to a newer Skoda Roomster. £500 trade in from a Skoda dealer for the old car clinched it for me. Now getting used to all the room in the thing. Quite cavernous! First impressions are positive. It's a Roomster 1.6TDI (105BHP) SE. Very flash.
  4. Has anyone successfully installed daytime running lights such as those from Phillips on a Roomster (or Fabia mark 2?). Installation seems simple enough. Link to Amazon listing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JUQVUAO/ref=s9_simh_gw_g263_i2_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=TT0SXGDSPQ53W189GDTN&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=16f14aeb-bd11-4e9e-8c26-9ca0139074ee&pf_rd_i=desktop The problem I see is that the front of the Roomster/Fabia Mk 2 is highly curved so the LED panels would point outwards at about 20 degrees if installed where the fog lights would go (if there were any). Ideally, a wedge-shaped mount for the LED strip would solve the problem. Any suggestions welcome - yes, go on and make sarcastic comments about DRLs blinding you if you must ...
