  1. Really glad you posted these issues, as I was struggling to work it out too and this is the third Skoda I've owned. I turned straight to Briskoda for the answer, rather than reading the manual, as I always know I can find the correct answer more easily. I've just downsized from an Octavia VRS with very sensible fuel cap, to the Roomster of which the design is to be queried.
  2. Car seems to be running fine with new camshaft sensor. I'll only add more to the thread if I do experience any further problems.
  3. Car had camshaft sensor replaced and seem to be running fine now. As a point of note, also had x4 fuel injectors replaced as product recall prior to camshaft sensor replacement.
  4. I had the camshaft sensor replaced yesterday and so far so good, but I'll be putting the car through its paces over the next few days and will report back ASAP.
  5. Yep - no problem. P.S. I read one of your earlier threads last night about condensation and ice building up on inside of windscreen and everything you described is true. Last year was particularly bad for me, as I had mould building up on the carpet and very damp seats that turned out to be a cracked washer pipe. Luckily I had it fixed under warranty, as it had destroyed some of the electrics in the steering column. However, since - I still suffer from excessive condensation and internal ice build up and you were correct to say it seems to be inherent to Octavias.
  6. My car is booked in to have camshaft sensor replaced on the 10th. P.S. I can hardly hear turbo whistling since fuel injectors were replaced. Beforehand it was just slightly noticable. Surely there must be a mechanic somewhere who can piece this all together and deliver a solution.
  7. As you know, I had injectors replaced a week ago and car still takes 5 cranks to start when warm, but worse today i.e. I suffered engine cut out at 20mph and only had residual steering and braking available. Car restarted after 3 cranks. I'm now going to pursue camshaft sensor repplacement, or trade in. I'll keep everyone posted.
  8. I drive a 07 plate 2.0 TDI PD VRS estate and starts perfectly from cold, but have experienced terrible problems when starting from warm from the past 4 months. I’ve replaced DPF, had an early service and recently had x4 fuel injectors replaced (due to product recall), but the problem persists. Car needs to be cranked 5 times or more from warm and cruise control will never operate if excessive cranking has been required to start the car. It has been suggested that replacement of the camshaft sensor might solve the problem. Don’t know if there is commonality with your difficulties. Any opinions would be welcome.
  9. I drive a 07 plate 2.0 TDI PD VRS estate and have experienced exactly the same problem for the past 4 months. I’ve replaced DPF, had an early service and recently had x4 fuel injectors replaced (due to product recall), but the problem persists. It has been suggested that replacement of the camshaft sensor might solve the problem.
