Thanks! I'm probably sorted for a pickup now.. (although not a Skoda!) so a Fun would have to be in good condition to get my interest... -

The felicia saloon ones will fit if you can get them.. although some of the tabs etc will need to be modified so not a straight bolt on. -

I'm looking for a fun again! if anyone knows of a decent one (In good condition, ideally not needing welding!) please tag / message me -
Thanks! added to the list! Working through the paperwork at the moment.. so will see if that's mentioned.. or (and I guess more likely!) add it to the to-do list

Hey people of Briskoda! After many years in a Dacia Duster (which I did like) I've stepped back into a Skoda in the form of a 2010 4x4 Seems in good condition, some bodywork issues that need a bit of a tweak but everything works and its been looked after. As I'm new to Yeti ownership is there anything I should do/check asap? Thanks!

Hi Brisky peeps! I'm looking at a roomster to replace my fun (which has been off the road a while and I have no time available to give the love it needs.. :( :( ) Budget is the lower end of the market and I think I can get: Diesel (economy + power) Cruise (must have imho) Sunroof (everyone says good things about them!) Ideally roofrails too... Oh and a scout if possible!!! I feel if I want everything I may be looking a while.. but is there anything else spec wise thats good to look for? Also I'm not too sure what to look for when inspecting one.. obviously the EPC / CEL lights.. but anything else? Are the wires to the rear hatch breaking a common problem? Any advice greatly received thanks!

Yep they are a pain in the backside! I was sure I had posted a warning on the general issues thread but can't see it there now :( good luck!

porsche teledials on a fun
smellyferret replied to ste s's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
As per PM, mine are probably about that. Rears rub a bit, but I'm not a fan of tyre stretch, so probably easily to remedy. I've not done anything else to the suspension other than shorter springs. -
fun rear seats

The locks have a weird plastic over them. as a 'make do' until you can get replacements that are not bashed/worn you may be able to cut off a lot of this plastic and free up the mechanism a bit. (this helped on my old fun, but beware that there is no way to undo this except buying new lock mechanisms) -

Thought I'd plonk this here: http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/skoda_felicia_fun Apparently 340 of em left on the road! (110 Sorn) Surprisingly higher than I expected tbh. -
98 Pickup coilovers?
smellyferret replied to JunglistJed's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
Do you want low or adjustable low? These springs will make it pretty low (yet still usable) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FELICIA-FUN-PICKUP-PICK-UP-35-30mm-LOWERING-SPRINGS-/170872796694?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c8cff616 -
If you end up looking at funs then the things I'd look for: - Has it been looked after? A lot of these have had a rough life as they are pickups! - Rust. They do like a bit of tin-worm. Sills (the body kits trap water), front wings, rear shock mount areas (can be seen in the bed) as well as patches on the doors and tailgate. - Engine can use oil, valve stem seals are a common problem (not too expensive to have done though). Overall they are great though Sky (one of the club insurance company's) sorted me.

This has since been removed and new metal welded in. Some more pics of the covers for people to reference (you can see the glue strips and also Czech writing from the factory I guess!?) The design was not too clever tbh, the skirts cover drain holes well. I'll be looking for a way to fix them back that is less harsh to get off.. Possibly something like this: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Marine/Home/Products/Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECIE20S4K7000000_nid=6LNS8D7T1HgsN4BX5SJJFCglFZ40W87ZPFbl

Updates! Sill covers are a pain to get off, but it is possible... Rear bits came off reasonably quick (I think the rust happens at the same place as the glue.. could be a good check foranyone buying a fun - loose bodykit = bad sills!) Front bits needed persuassion with the mallet / screwdriver / chisel and took a fair amount of time. One cracked a bit:

So I picked up my fun! :) Its got some rust issues.. but I think most do! On the test drive it seemed to be fine.. not so fine now.. (I'll get into that below) Anyway, everyone loves pics!: So... On the drive home I noticed a clunking when turning.. sounds like a driveshaft/CV boot type thing.. Then after a few days with it it started to run like a dog (3 cylinders?) yay... I've not had much time so: Checked the points, bit dirty but seemed ok.. (no obvious water in there) So I ordered dizzy cap / plugs / HT leads / rotor arm from euro car parts.. Got the bits and whacked em in yesterday! - Old plugs were gacked up completely (now runs better, but not right) - HT leads not the right set (despite ordering via REG number and them telling me the right part! - need to get shouty on Monday) - I've also booked it in to a local garage next week for them to look at how its running (time and this thing called work? stopping me from having a go! :( ) (given it some redex & stop-smoke too) So that's the running... Rust.. Sills have some grot at the back.. so my 1st big question is: 1) How do the bodykit side covers come off? I'm guessing foul language / wire / hair dryer and time+patience? (I'm not worried about a few scratches, but dont want to break them) The tailgate has rust issues.. 2) Is there any easy way to get this off? I've had a quick look.. Will I have to take the pins out of the hinges? The front wings are not that nice.. I plan to replace these later this year! Plans once the initial jobs are done: Lowering springs Teledials Enjoy! I like the 'used' patina as it will mean I'm less inclined to worry about using the car!
