  1. Crash sucks mate, hope it's all fixed ASAP.... On a different note, wow that's a lot of inter cooler pipe work, I'm impressed that the turbo can actually shift enough air to build up over a bar of pressure in that lot lol.
  2. It may be to do with manifold temperatures mainly. Petrols get a bit hotter so the turbo has to deal with that... Might be some other technical specs different that I'm not aware off but sure someone else will :-)
  3. VW Whitenoise Show Friday 3rd August - Sunday 5th August 2012 Just booked my ticket, will be rolling in with the dubgeneration gang. Anyone else on Briskoda making their way there?
  4. Is this the same guide for leather seats too? Cheers
  5. Reading all the forums about ASR, people are always commenting that the system is far too sensitive and cuts power too soon and for too long... Well... Set the scene: Closed road, good Tarmac surface, mildly damp, front tyres have a good 3-4mm of tread and recently pumped up, running completely standard Fabia VRS SE, never set the ASR light off usually as drive sensible and with a light right foot... So with ASR turned off I could spin the fronts through to 3rd no problem (as you'd expect) With ASR turned on, could spin the fronts all the way through 1st with a few flashes of the ASR light at about 4,000rpm, exactly the same all through 2nd, then it cuts power as I change into third, leaving a lovely smell of burning rubber... So can't say my VRS agrees with the standard stereotype ASR system, unless anyone can shed some light on the situation. Must say its the perfect system, let's you Be in control most of the time and only kicks in very little. I Love my Fabia :-)
  6. Best of both.... Jailbreak an iPhone, all the free apps and customisation of android in an iPhone. Boom! Problem sorted ;-)... Of course, just my opinion lol
  7. On the bright side :-) I would guess BP's stock have probably recovered after their little spill a while ago thanks to all the extra sales lol :-P
  8. Complicated subject really... Yes, if they state the maternity leave as a reason for dismissal, you'll have an unfair dismissal case. However if the job physically no longer exists, and they claim cut backs and what ever else, then no... However If you feel you was the best for the job and still got made redundant then I'd talk to citizen advice and go from there really... So many hoops to jump through with modern day law it's unreal
  9. Wow would love to overhaul and engine like that, so impressive, especially the figure stated above ;-) makes the 1.9tdi look like a child's chew toy lol... Love old days engineering, I spent a week running round HMS Alliance, two massive supercharged diesels, with rockers the size of my forearm. Would pull hurricane force winds through the submarine, amazing!
  10. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2010/10/14/ducati-elenore-v8-update/ Ok so not strictly a 'car engine' but no saying it can't go in a car ;-) For any engine enthusiasts out there, check out the YouTube video and pics. Very clever design from Ducati! Not something I really see going into mass production however... Just nice to know there are still people out there thinking and designing new concepts still :-)
  11. ASR didn't kick in once for me in the snow in January, had about 10inches of snow round the car... Mine isn't sensitive at all, never kicks in at full throttle on a dry day either, car just pulls :-)
  12. Well, this is a German engine company were talking about ;-) never know lol
  13. Read all the mod topic linked above. Will try this when get back to me car... Only question being, does the oil vapour not have cooling/lubing effects on the turbo? No extra risk to the turbo involved? Cheers
  14. Impact driver + hammer... If it doesn't get the bolt out then at least you'll have fun hitting the thing with a hammer for 10 mins ;-)
