  1. Well in that case, I apologise for asking. It seemed like a simple question, I was genuinely looking for help, rather than a rant. I'll try elsewhere.
  2. Sorry to bring this one back up, but I need to check one more thing... If I press the alarm scan disable button on our Roomster, the red illumination goes out (turns off) when the switch is pressed, but returns immediately once I let go. Is that normal - or should it stay off ? Thanks, Si
  3. I took our Roomster back to a dealer about 2 weeks after buying it, because the front passenger door seal was very noisy at about 60mph and above. They replaced the whole seal, and I seem to remember that they claimed it was "a known fault". It wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of technical bulletin, not-quite-a-recall that dealers are aware of. Follow the advice of other folks on this thread and get the dealer to replace it under warranty. There was some review of the Roomster when it was launched that said the Skoda team showing the car to the journalists had to get a seal fixed to stop water getting inside. Let me see if I can find it... Family transport - Telegraph
  4. Sorry, there's only one small tag I could find, and it just has a serial number on it - no manufacturer's name or country or origin etc.
  5. A tag ? I'll have a look for one tonight and let you know
  6. Skoda, I guess: the rucksack has their logo embossed on it. They're in the official merchandise catalogue. Took my local dealer about 2 weeks to get it shipped from the warehouse (wherever that is).
  7. Since I didn't fancy pulling the seats out to fit another storage tray, I decided this was a useful alternative... ?koda Merchandise It's an organiser/tidy that straps to the seat back, but then zips up into a small-ish rucksack that can be attached to a small child* for portability. The rucksack is a boxy construction in matt-effect silver. My 3-year old loves it for his toys, and it has the added bonus of making him look a bit like Tweeky from Buck Rogers HF * small child not included when ordering from Skoda.
  8. What do you mean "was" ?! The A-team van still is the ultimate IMHO
  9. The Berlingo has just been facelifted I believe, and is much more attractive in its latest incarnation (relatively speaking). Click link below for image http://www.autospies.com/images/users/speedspies/2008%20Citroen%20Berlingo.jpg However, I would echo the comment made above about build quality and reliability. I now drive our (petrol) C3 to work every day, and for various reasons, have christened it The Sh1troen I would hazard a guess that the VAG-sourced diesel in the Roomster would be a much better bet (in terms of economy, performance and reliability) than those on offer from the cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
  10. Is there something suitable in the Skoda Accessories catalogue ?
  11. Perhaps a better thread title might be "I'm A Simpleton, Get Me Out Of Here", so apologies in advance if this another obvious question... The central locking behaviour on our Roomster is confusing me again. Just forward of the gearstick are two buttons, one marked with a key icon, the other with an open door icon. I know what these mean - one for lock, the other for unlock, as my Octavia had the same, but I can't fathom their operation in the Roomy. If I turn the ignition off, remove the key and press that lock button, the central locking engages and the key icon is then illuminated. If I then press the unlock button, nothing happens. Not a sausage. Even if I hold it down for a couple of seconds, nada. The only way to disengage the locks seems to be by operating the interior door handle, or using the remote fob. Is that normal ? Or have I got a duff switch ? Thanks, HF
  12. I drove from Hampshire to Norfolk and back last weekend and didn't see a single other Roomster during the 400 mile round trip. I did see a new VW Scirocco on the M25. Which was nice.
  13. Tried the button (on driver's door) to disable the interior scan for the alarm ?
  14. The Merc may have The Number Of The Beast, but Fluffmeister's Roomy has the looks
