A big thank you,Bopman.I took the complicated,tedious and expensive option of changing the thermostat.Alas,the problem you had persisted.Seeing your post,I took your advice and ordered the part.Bingo.Problem solved!Let me tell you your solution was unknown to professional mechanics knowing this engine, who ,until your revelation,were baffled. This is a priceless piece of advice you have posted here.Again,thanks a lot.

Hello,my 2.0 lt. 2011 dsg hardly ever reaches working temp(90 degs on the water temp guage),and when it does the temp will drop down again swiftly to around 40 or 50 degrees when going downhill,even on a short stretch. I was sure it was a thermostat stuck in open position problem.Had the thermostat changed to a new one (hell of a job,wish you all never to have to). To my surprise,the same problem persisted,so alas, it was not a thermostat failiure that cost a small fortune to do. Please,does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Really grateful and thankful for any help. Raphael
  3. Had a battery change day before yesterday,the man connected my Yeti to another battery before disconnecting my old one.He said it is to keep the onboard computer running.

  5. Thanks,Coldplug. Amazing videos.The chances of me ever driving in snow here in Israel are not big,but your videos certainly give confidence in the 4x4 Yeti we own.   6. 40 MPG is in fact not too bad,in my opinion. I have a 2.0LT 140 HP DSG and i get less than that,unless I am on a longish haul with not too much use of the brakes on the way. The best I have acheived is like you,40. I too find it hard to understand people claiming any higher. I would like to see to beleive.

  8. How old is your Yeti? If it is relatively new , more mileage will fit everything into place. If not new,our fellow members advice is really helpful.

There are many models and makes.Mine has been installed and working over six months flawlessly,so you have a first hand recommendation.The screen is small,but thats just what I wanted.For a quick glance at the screen while reversing it is all I need,and takes minimal space on the windscreen. The camera mount has multiple options for fitting,I will send you a pic so you see how mine is fitted.   11. got an aftermarket camera .Wireless,so you need not bother sending a wire to the front.Just connect it to your reversing lights and get the front unit powered.Comes with a clear suction cup so you can fit it on the right side of your windscreen with minimum clutter.Costs round us60 dollars.Does the job. Anything else,meaning Skoda original ,is a waste of good money.

  13. Probably happened because you refuelled with the engine running.When refuelling the Yeti always turn the engine off.The guage will return to it self after a while.

  17. Yeti performed flawlessly as if it was 20 Degs and not45.This was after a 30 minute drive,level road and aircon set to a pleasant 24c.
  18. 2 liter 4x4 tdi bought it brand new in 2011 65000 kms on the clock,not one thing has gone wrong so far.Same car as Llanigraham has.
  19. Hello ejstubbs, Let me put your mind at ease.Where I live it is 38 degs and up every single day all of July and August,sometimes reaching 45 degs (!!) My Yeti has the exact same engine yours has. My Yeti runs flawlessly regardless of the temp, I am happy to report Stay away from French cars.......ha ha ha.

  22. 60000 kms. It does not seem to be on the yeti service protocol,not in the UK nor on the continent or elsewhere. After trying to convince my garage it has to be done,they found a reference to it somewhere,but it seems to be overlooked. They had no idea how to approach it (!!) and I showed them what to do once it was up on the lift. It is a very simple procedure,really.I learned how as it was explained in detail here in this forum somewhere.Just a couple of screws,bottom one for draining,top for filling.Very easy to get to. I got a litre plastic bottle of Haldex oil, the reservoir accepts around 600 cc only.Used oil pours out rather clear,but with a mucky grayish blob at the bottom. 62 GBP seems like a reasonable sum,though after understanding it is such a simple procedure,ill do it myself next time.
