  1. I am now on Michelin Pilot sports 225/45/17 much better than the conti's they replaced Neal. 51 plate VRS
  2. The screen is not broken it just appears that the coating on the inside of the screen has degraded I am not sure my insurance would cover this? regards Neal.

Hi Guys, tha rear screen on my 2001 vrs hatch has gone a bit funny, it looks like calcification has appeared on the inside of the screen almost like a film has begun to peel in certain area but from the outside you cannot see any trace. This is greatly effecting the rear visability especialy at night when it blurs the view. has any one else suffered with this and how do I sort it out? many thanks Neal.

  8. Bought a 42" plasma on Boxing day much to the wifes disgust. Got it in my Octy Vrs hatch by removing the top half of the box then sliding/lowering it in then placed the poly protection inserts back around the screen to prevent it moving. It was perfect with about 1" clearence to the roof lining making the inserts a snug fit. I also took home a massive home cinema system in an even bigger box aswell. The screen sat very centraly with the seats down and the Box to one side. Just dont try and get air off any speed bumps on the way home. I had no choice though if I had gone home and told her it was being delivered next day she would have phoned up and told them not to bother. I agree that it is bad idea to lay a plasma flat due and the box and currys explicitly warning gainst it althogh i'm not oo sure of the science behind it. cheers Neal.

  10. Thanks Guys, If it is the coil packs are they still a factory recall item. I remember reading some time ago that Skoda where replacing a faulty series of Coil packs, is this still the case and does anyone know how I would go about this. cheers Neal.
  11. Hi Guys. Drove my 51plate Vrs yesterday morning no problems at all. Jetwashed it Yesterday Afternoon on Drive looks good. Started it this morning and holly crap= It feel like it is running on 3 cylinders the engine is bouncing in the mounts. The engine warning light is flashing and it has gone into limp mode The cat stinks (on the car, not the fluffy type) any ideas??? could I have knocked something by jetwashing the front of the car quite vigorously to remove leaves etc any help greatly appreciated regards Neal.
  12. Thanks for the responces guys, but one last question is 80,000 miles the correct cam belt change for the petrol or dielsel engine or both. Also I have heard mention that the belt should be done at 5 years irrespective of miles? cheers Neal.
  13. Hi Guys, I have just got off the phone too my local skoda main dealer where they have told me that my 2001 octy vrs will be £250 INC VAT for its service 60,000miles. Seems good to me. I then asked about a cam belt change and the first dealer told me it was not due until 80,000 on that engine:rolleyes: The second dealer told me that they just performe a visulal inspection every 20,000 miles and there was no formal change time. what is the truth??. Also I have just noticed due to me needing two new tyres that I have 225/45/17 on the front and 215/45/17 on the rear shurely this cant be right? many thanks in advance for any advice offered. Neal.
  14. Hi, I have been waiting on a set of Octy vrs mats from my local dealer since december and have now been told that they are out of production and not currently available in the Uk. Does anybody know of a Uk source? cheers Neal.
