  1. Yep my water pump went last year at 86K miles, the AA guy said no need to look at what it could be! Front nearside wheel bearing at the same time, rear off side wheel bearing at 90K; rear near side wheel bearing 105K Also the wear on the inside of the rear tyres is a bit of a joke we me and the dealer, they say its not a problem. But still I have just ordered another one
  2. Not had that happen to the drivers seat, just the usual wear on the bolster but I am now at 105K miles; so it does sound a bit premature to me. That said the foam in the passenger seat actually split under the cloth within the first 5000 miles, and that was with minimal use; I got the 'fair wear and tear' story to which I laughed as the car was only 2 months old. I had to write to Skoda UK to get this rectified, and it took 6 months to sort.
  3. I think the brochure may have some errors Hatch it has a 7.6, estate 8.0; 4x4 Hatch 7.3. It just seemed odd that's all. Ah ha, it those black labs they weigh even more, I'll have to put her on a diet.
  4. Going through the brochure and I am wondering why the estate 0-60 is 0.4 slower than the hatch just on the 184 Tdi manual, there seems to be very little difference between estate and hatch on other engines, and I can't see why, is the gearing different?
  5. Hello, has anybody seen a velvet red car yet; they will soon be available for the UK along with energy blue.
  6. Sounds like a real mpg of 50ish is workable, thanks for the info.
  7. Have not used fuelly for a bout 2 years, that's a bit miss leading
  8. I would hope to get 50+, I average 55 at present in the VRS.
  9. Hello, I am looking to buy a Hatch SEL 190tdi, the mpg figures look very impressive on paper; does anybody have an real world figures? I don't trust to computer as my VRS is always 10mpg lower when I calculate real world versus computer. Thanks
  10. Hmm, I like the Superb; but I love the handling of the VRS; I do about 35K miles a year and half of them are A roads, I visit a lot of farms.
  11. I think I'll have to try one with DCC, really nice car but even the sport line was boating around corners.
  12. Hello, really thinking of swrapping my Octy VRS for a superb, however steering just a bit wallowy for my liking though, has anybody gone this way before? Would having the Adaptive suspension make a difference
  13. Hello, looking to order another VRS; however unsure if I should stick with 18 inch wheels or go for 19 inch with the black edition pack. Has anybody gone from 18 to 19, if so did you notice a difference to ride, handling noise etc?
  14. Yep same here with Amundsen, blank screen radio playing, turn off unit no clock; turn off car and restart, all OK. Worth mentioning to dealer just in case it goes kaput!
  15. Sorry not updated my profile yet, colour is metal grey now; metal grey looks lovely in the dark when light hits it you see all the metallic flecks along with the swirls :(
  16. After two weeks of ownership decided to give the VRS a wash; foamed and two bucket method. I had my suspicions there was some swirling but oh boy the level is incredible; when the light catches it right OMG. I cant be believe that I am looking at getting the DA out on the car already to get rid of the swirls and start from fresh; what are they playing at when they wash it at the dealers?
  17. The 1.6tdi is no more, I was just looking for metal grey, xenons and hawk wheels; but couldn't have as an elegance. Then the dealer had a VRS in metal grey and hey presto; the elegance was a nice car, but after a few days of driving the VRS oh boy! sweet handling and a decent ride. I use a farm lane daily and I was dreading the ride, but the rear suspension makes it better than elegance, so impressed.
  18. After having my order for 2 weeks now I have just been informed that you can not have Hawks with metal grey; still only with the Sliver Sports pack and that is not available with metal grey. I was thinking of changing my order for a VRS, looks like decision made for me.
  19. I am now considering changing my order for a 2.0tdi Elegance to VRS tdi, my biggest concern is the seats; I drive 300-400 miles at a time and I love the seats in my current Elegance, the VRS seats look quite firm. Anybody been in the same boat??
  20. Help! I have just been to my local dealers to try and order my next car and I really confused over Metal Grey!! They have 2 estates in Metal Grey, one a VRS the other and SE; however I am pretty certain the VRS looked much darker than the SE. The dealer confirmed they are both Metal Grey, but he agreed that the VRS looked much darker, is it possible that VRS has a draker variant of Metal Grey; especially as I wish to order the VRS colour for my Elegance.
  21. I have a 1.6tdi elegance, and I came from a 2.0tdi Passat; to be quite honest I don't notice the performance difference, the Octy overtakes no problem and returns 60mpg on my average run. So far have covered 54K in the last 14 months and it has been a great car. Last October we towed a camper (850kg) around France and it pulled not problem up hills; cruised at 80mph no problem and still returned 48mpg on average. For me a company car driver the 1.6 makes much more sense (about £80 per month ), and I think is a great car with a good spec.
