  1. i had a cv joint failure once on a felicia a while back, due to a torn cv boot, loss of lubricant. The symptoms in my case were a severe rocking of the steering wheel peridoically, what i later found out is that each time it started rocking, i was losing a bearing from the cv joint i was very lucky that as the last one was falling out, i was on the motorway and pulled into the services (just, after driving about 2 miles on the hard shoulder at about 20mph with the steering wheel rocking side to side) put the car on full lock, and heard a loud clunk, at this point the last ball bearing had dropped out, and the shaft was just spinning in the casing. i wasn't going anywhere as for replacing, yes nice and easy if i recall, all i did was remove the roadwheel, undo the centre hub bolt (possibly the track rod arm as well, i can't remember, was a while ago i did it) then pull shocker away from the cv joint, sliding them apart. then tap the cv joint from behind towards you, holding the driveshaft into the gearbox firmly, it should pop off its circlip, and then just tap the new one into place after greasing it up nicely. best bet there is to hold the cv joint frimly at the back of it, and line up the bearing straight so it should tap right on. did it on both sides jus to eb safe as i never knew when the other one might pop its clogs cost wise, silly as it might sound,i used a second hand one that i checked over, was in ok condtion, just made sure it was well greased up. make sure you put plenty of grease in the boot too when you put it back on, jus so there is some suplus. hope this helps, (all be it a bit long winded)
  2. ok, well this is all my fault really, but i need to know how to fix it. i have a 1.3 mpi L felicia I hit a rock while driving my car up the local forestry. The gearbox mount snapped in half and the engine basically fell out on that side. anyways, the driveshaft came out too, and the gears were obviously stiff while the engine was slumped. i fixed all that, the driveshaft, mount etc, but now it doesn't like 2nd, 4th, and reverse. all the gears that push into the gearbox, how do i fix that, i have a spare box, and well, a spare car. so what do i do? thanks guys please note, i does go into gear, but it is stiff as hell. and very annoying.
  3. they're for sale if you want lol. got 1 good tyre on lol, 3 bald ones
  4. these are the 3 spokes, and as a side question, i was considering a lowering kit, but apart from the mild difference in looks (from the pics), does it improve the handing??
  5. right well, i have 15" 3 spokes lol, i know retro, but they look awsome, i got them off ebay too, but i thikn i got a serious deal, £39 for 4 brand new tyres, and then the alloys they were on, offered for another tenner, so i paid £49 hehe anyways, about the tyres sizes, 195/50/15 is actually too big, the ones your supposed to have to make it the same as the original ones are 195/45/15, well the're much closer, but on the smaller side. these 3 spokes are 7j wide too, and offset of 34, fit perfect no rubbing, the last set i had rubbed on the inside of the tyres, not sure what on, i never saw, but i think the offet was higher. so that explains it photo is of old alloys

  11. there are SO MANY VARIABLES IN THIS!!!!! speedo has a accuracy of plus or minus 10% (thats why speed cameras are set at plus 10% because they have to account for this!!) if your tires are slightly low or high there is a difference IT IS DEFINATE FACT, that if your rolling radius is larger than it should be, your speedo will show a slower than your are actually going. end of!! i don't give a flying monkey bout your gps
  12. honestly, i give up..... there is no point to this. think what you will i don't care at all
