  1. I find the exact same - ease off thinking the car will slow down of its own accord by the time I get to the slow traffic etc , but the car just seems to roll so effortlessly. End up having to stamp on the brakes at the last minute as a result!

  3. Ok, one step further - has anyone seen or got these fog lights with integrated DRLs? Or what about these headlights?
  4. Have been toying with the idea of upgrading the drl's in the fogs, the side lights in the main headlamps and also the puddle lights in the wing mirrors to LED. SuperSkoda have got all 3 sets that they claim don't need coding, plus have a 2 year warranty on them - plus have 20% off till tomorrow night. Have researched but can't quite workout if their lights really are error message free? Also how easy is it to change the bulbs in the fogs? Do you remove the front wheels, then unscrew the linings to gain access?
  5. Unfortunately for the twin hatch it's still not quite plug and play..... Note: Customer must disable "broken bulb detection" function via Vag Com (visit some local VAG specialized garage)
  6. Hi, just thought I'd write this for other users for future use. Yesterday some charming other motorist clipped my wing mirror while I was pulled over to let them pass. Mirror folded round with the knock, mirror was intact and I thought it was fine. Got home and looked at it to check the paint wasn't chipped off the back of the cover - it wasn't - but the LED indicator is smashed. £20 from dealer for the correct part, and I'm fitting it. Searched on here and online for exact Superb II replacement instructions but couldn't find anything specific to the Superb II. So I read about the Superb I and viewed videos of VWs etc. In the videos they all seem to show and say use a wedge and pull the covers up and off - they are stiff but do come off. Well on the Superb II I have found that instead you have to first remove the mirror, then there are 2x small screws that connect the casting of the metal mirror structure to the inside of the plastic housing. Unscrew these, then gently prise the mirror cover off - just unclips. As I couldn't find any info about this instead before I tried, I found out the hard way. I left the mirror in place, then by following the videos I pulled the cover off and in doing so broke the inside of the mirror cover with the 2 screws still attached. Its not the end of the world as once the lamp was changed, I pressed the cover back into place to see how it fitted. The plastic clips seem to hold the cover on nice and firm and so to be honest, at the moment I'm not worried about having to replace an otherwise immaculate mirror cover.......But Time and motorway wind will tell..... Anyway hope this helps others if they find themselves in the same position!
  7. Have got a 2012 greenline and have had it from new. I've a always thought that the rear suspension was firm but recently it seemed to be even harder. So much so that the slightest pothole caused a very loud bang that sent more than shivers down your spine! I had assumed that the greenline had a firmer than normal ride to try and be more economical or something, or bushes had gone. Anyway, took it into the dealers for its second routine service and when I checked it in I asked them to have a quick look. When I picked it up the service guy asked have I had the car from new? I said yes. He then asked where did I buy it from, I replied from here - that's the salesman who sold it to me. Oh he said. What's the matter i asked? Well the service technicians said it wasn't from here. Well I can assure you it came from here just under 2 years ago - what's this all about anyway - what's wrong? The technicians have inspected your suspension and found that the rear transport stops / chocks are still fitted, the car obviously wasn't PDI'd properly. I said I wasn't happy (putting it mildly) and said I was even more angry in the fact it was there for its second service - they hadn't spotted it on the first service and that I had a sneaking suspicion that if I hadn't mentioned it when I dropped it off, that they still wouldn't have spotted it. They have assured me that it caused no damage and tried to laugh it off. I am waiting for them to put it in writing, but is there more I should get them to do?
  8. Sorry for taking time with a follow up report, don't know what caused it seemed to be the disc shield/ protector beng bent inwards towards the disc. Got a large flat head screwdriver and "gently" pushed it all back outwards. Nothing fell out so that's why I don't reckon it was a stone caught. Either way seems to have solved it ....... for now
  9. Have got a 2012 superb greenline with only 6700 miles on the clock. This evening the most horrendous screeching high pitched grinding noise started coming from the passenger side front wheel. Thought it was brakes so dabbed them soft and hard - noise didn't stop. Thought its suspension but when you lean on the bonnet there is no noise have looked with a torch and can't see anything obvious - like a stone caught between calliper and alloy for instance. Stopped in car park and checked. It's seems worse / louder the slower you go. Have driven fast and slow to try and clear it but to no avail. Driven about 10 miles with the noise so far and it won't go away. Anyone have the same experience or have an idea of what it could be? Will ring the dealer in the morning but its annoying me that I can't see what it is myself.
  10. So far the best I've managed is 56mpg according to the car. Normally it's only getting 49 - 50mpg. Dont rev it hard, don't go above 80mph (sits just under 2500 revs), change gear when the gear shift indicator tells me - but I have only done a couple of thousand miles so far....
  11. Little chefs give (on the whole) good "proper" food at a reasonable price. Whether its just a maple syrup pancake and ice cream, half chicken or an Olympic breakfast - in recent years the quality has been better - even the steaks were good. In my opinion the reason why little chef is in decline is partly due to it's bad historic reputation for poor quality food and slow / poor service, and partly due to the fact that younger generations would rather go to the burger king or KFC for "fast food". As a regular user I found that if you go in and give your order whilst being seated, you could be eating within 5 to 10 minutes.
  12. Hi I've got a 2012 build superb with bolero head unit, multifunction steering wheel and maxidot. Am getting confused which kit I'll need but think that this is the correct one without losing the aux input? http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-media-in-mdi-kit-usb-adapter-retrofit-5n0035342e,id299.html
  13. Hi all, Was just wondering what actual mpg figures greenline users are getting. I only got my car (2012 build) on Saturday and have done 410 miles already on one tank wih the range saying its got another 200 miles left, fuel gauge is at quarter tank mark left. On board maxidot says its in the 50s mpg wise - I was expecting better to be honest - what is every one else getting?
  14. 2012 Superb greenline SE in silver - love it so far!
