  1. Hi, I have a fabia 1.2 HTP(Petrol) 2011, this shares the same engine as the polo 1.2 back here, it has about 75bhp and thought of adding in few performance mods, i have contacted a local tuner back here and this is what i plan to get done. 1) Airfilter - I have replaced it with K&N stock 2) Exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe - SS(Stainless steel), remove the Catcon and have the rest in place as it is(No sound mods) 3) Changes in ECU as per the new settings(Errors from catcon, O2 sensors etc) Can anyone direct me to blogs/forums where this has been done so that i can take in few tips and if possible any maps or share their opinions/suggestions, share best practices Thanks San
  2. Thanks for sharing your opinion, surely will rethink on this, but aesthetic wise i think the skoda originals look better :-)
  3. Hi Guys - I am planning to upgrade the existing headlamps to a projector and a HID kit, so does the new projector set come with wiring and bulbs as well or is it just the assembly? If it is with wiring then should i go for the normal wiring from Skoda that comes with the projector and then upgrade to the HID(outside),just trying to save few bucks, any help or direction is greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know the pricing of the projector lamps, you can share any currency pricing, since the projector sets are imported by Skoda back here. 2011 Fabia2 - India Thanks
  4. Hi, I have a fabia 1.2 HTP from the past 3 years and i am really satisfied with the car. I am facing an issue from the past 2 years and this is what it is: During my 2nd service i had informed skoda service center that there is a light noise which comes from the engine bay while the car goes over a speed breaker or else if the car is in a 4th or 5th gear for example and the speed is 40KM/HR or neutral and if the car went over an pot hole there is a noise which comes out from the engine bay and now a days there is a noise which comes from the back part of the car or suspension(2 noises). This noise has been really irritating since the roads here have lots of pot holes(India) and during the 3rd service the service center guys said this is an engine mounting issue, while i asked them to replace it they said it is not under warranty, well i had informed this during the last service but now the blame is on the customer, and i need to shell down for this, but i am not sure if this is the engine mounting/bedding issue rather something lose in the vehicle i feel. 1) Has any one come across this kind of issue before? 2) Can anyone direct me as to how this can be resolved or else is there something else i need to get checked? 3)Should i really change this part or else will it affect any further in my car? 4)Can any one help me out with this and also the price for this part : 6/0199167AA 5) Any suggestions? There were similar kind of issue in skoda vehicles which i found in other blogs and also have posted it for reference. I had written to skoda but in vains again- This is what the email states "From: Service [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2014 1:07 PM To: Santosh S Murthy Cc: [email protected] Subject: [WARNING - NOT VIRUS SCANNED] FW: Acknowledgement Mail : Mr. Kumar : KA01MH298 Dear Sir, Greetings for the day, Forwarding the mail once again, in case not received at your end In continuation to the below mail we would like to keep you informed that we had sent a goodwill request to Skoda Auto for the engine bedding. 9. Hi Guys, I own a skoda fabia and when i bought this car it came with 2 speakers and 2 tweeters in the front, the dealer fixe a JBL CS-6 or CS-5 for the rear doors, though this was fixed the people in the back complained that the sound quality in the back is not up-to the mark but for the sound quality in the front was of top notch. So i thought why not get a good tweeter(Pioneer CS-120...) fixed for the rear so when i went to near by audio shop one of the audio guy opened the system and said this actually support the front speakers and the rear speakers were crimped and fixed to the existing ones which i was shocked(later on i also opened to re-check and found the rear speakers were connected to the same wire of the front speaker), he also said there is no point putting tweeters as the head unit may get smoked due to heavy load so now i am thinking about the following and need your help. 1) Exchange the old head unit for some 2 din touch screen system and get a JBL component speakers for the rear section - can anyone direct me on a good head unit, component speaker(model and price) and a)how much can i expect for the old head unit and JBL speakers my budget for new HU and rear component speakers is about 20K or less,(quote in EUR,$,INR etc, will convert it to get a rough idea) The component speaker usually has a crossover and then a tweeter, so where is the tweeter connected(Where is it usually placed) if i am doing it for the rear of my car. 2) I was going through few sites and came across an amplifier which takes a 2 channel input and converts to 4 channel which is also a good idea but wanted to know if any one has tried this out.2 channel to 4 channel split system : http://www.scosche.com/car-stereo-output-converter
  10. Hi, Even i hear that 'tak' noise when i depress the clutch till the end, its normal i think and we need to depress till this so that the clutch does not wear off early.
  11. Thanks for your inputs, if you can share the link for your thread it will be really helpfull, i was unable to find it as such.
  12. Thanks a lot guys, i think i will upgrade my existing bulbs to 100/90 with a relay. The projector costs a about 19K INR and another 1K fitting charges. Then probably i will need to upgrade to HID etc. so i will delay the project for the next 6 months and when the currency exchange rate dips will order it from superskoda or from skoda directly.
  13. Hi, so what do i go about with, the bulb upgrade or projectors, does any one have an idea as to what it might cost for an upgrade and which bulbs are recommended?
  14. Hi Guys, I have a 2011 facelift Fabia and the models down here do not come with projector lamps and the the lighting of the car is really inadequate along with the fog lamps. So i am planning to upgrade to projector can anyone direct me if this upgrade is : 1) Really worth or should i upgrade the bulbs with a cut out for 100/90 2) Will this Increase the lighting on the road? 3) Can i use the old bulbs or is there an upgrade for the bulbs also. 4) Has anyone upgraded and the price for the upgrade. - Any currency is fine as the prices worldwide are the same for skoda 5) Are there any tweaks to be done on the Fabia to accommodate this change? 6) Does anyone know the part number for the Normal Projector lamps and the price. I did manage to get the price of the projector, but the ones i got are smoked projector lamps(Needs to be imported) which i am not a fan and i have CBeige colour fabia, i am looking for the normal projector lamps. I would appreciate everyone contribution as i am in a fix as to if i have to go with this upgrade which i know is pretty costly and need some one to guide me with this.
