  1. I lease a 1.0l SE tech. Love it. Best all-round car I've ever had. Managed a 51 mpg on a long run out last week. Anyway, I was checking on skoda.co.uk for the 1.0 model and couldn't find it any more. In fact the new from price is 22.6k. Was this a sneaky way to introduce a cheap model? And then ditch it.
  2. The glossy plastic and dashboard plastics. Scratch if you breath on them. The start/stop is a bit more giddy than it ever was in the Yeti.
  3. This was my best lease deal yet. Tech SE DSG 1.0 350 deposit and 220 a month for 30 months. Didn't have to front load the cash, always worth asking a if you can lower the deposit. It made no difference to the long term payments. On top of this the dealer gave me 250 cash back before my deposit. I drove away a brand new car for 100. One service , no tax, breakdown included. No brainer for me. Love the car. The engine is fab and the DSG is much smoother than the yeti. Steering is sublime. And the brakes are night and day over the yeti. I do miss the LED lamps from the Yeti. They were incredible. The auto start/stop is very poorly implemented this time. It's all over the shop. That is the only thing I don't like - oh and the glossy plastics skoda use are awful. Scratch when you breath on them. I can't see a scenario where i would buy one. But everyone's circumstances are different.
  4. That's interesting! My car came with a scratch which the dealer was too laid back about ! I.e didn't sort it until I kicked off. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  5. Girl friend has the L&K and it's there. My Yeti buying/leasing experience has been one dreadful thing after another. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  6. Yes - I've just got an SE-L phone works through Bluetooth fine. But there is no voice control even though there are buttons. Second to top of range - this a mean spirited omission. And I can see why the OP would get confused. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk

Still, why not use more practical surfaces. I can't remember cars from previous generations having these problems. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk

Yes - a shame. We've had three fabias - all scratched the same. We've got two new yetis and I've been very careful but but got slight scratches. You need a the finest microfibre clothes (for keeping tablet/phone screens clean) and something like autoglym fast glass to keep clean. Go near them with your finger or a rough microfibre and you will put scratches straight on to them. Most people will not even know or care - I'm precious about this sort of stuff and quickly realised how easy it is to scratch them. As for taking the scratches out there is a plastic polishing kit I got that works to a degree. I will get the name. Quite frankly it's crap. Cheap materials. But not exclusive to Skoda. 11. Yes it was. The low profiles! The Yeti is firm but not bumpy. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  12. I reckon 30-34 knocking around. I did see 40 once - coming down from the mountains!
  13. Thanks for that. May give it a try in an inconspicuous area. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  14. Didn't use 98 is the price difference worth it? And Brasso - is that not abrasive? Thanks for comments. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  15. Whilst waiting for my 1.2 DSG SEL Yeti - the girlfriends' 1.4 L&K turns up. So this was the car we were going to drive to Morzine in - for our Skiing holiday. We have driven a few times in our trusty Fabia MCs - no real issues with them even four up. Good MPG 45+, the only downside being the bumpy ride and the lack of freshness you feel in a car that's a bit low. Both Yetis have been matched on the PCH deal that we saw offered by Simpsons. All the dealers we approached haven't been that great (more of that in the dealer thread) very very poor experiences. The last straw being the L&K turned up with no mats without explanation. They did however match the Simpson deal of £135+2090 down for the L&K. We both returned our Fabias to take these deals as they were nearly at the end of their terms. The Yetis were actually cheaper by quite a bit. My thoughts good and bad. The good: Very comfortable over long distance. We pretty much did the return journey in one hit. Great composure on the last climb into the mountains - wasn't much snow on the road but I really enjoyed how it drove the hair-pins. Good place to be in terms of driving position and ergonomics. Seats are great and supportive. I like the flexibility of the seats even if the boot space is quite a bit down on the Fabia Estate. Climatronic system is good - maybe a few too many options. Firm suspension but nowhere near as bad as the Montes! Like the parking/reversing detectors - well implemented. Nothing rattled or creaked like on the Fabia. The bad: 37 MPG - seems a bit low. Didn't know what to expect - but I thought early 40s may have been possible. Given the Fabia was so great - could see 50+. Early days Cheap glossy plastics. What is it with Skoda and the extremely scratch-able glossy black plastic. Scratches as soon as you wipe it - you have to use a fine 'wet' Micro-fibre or your doomed. This glossy plastic is on the interior of the L&K and the exterior pillars. Basically touching them will produce fine scratches. It was the same on my Fabia MCs. Awful and unpractical. The dashboard speedo fasicas are the same too. One wipe and a micro scratch. A bit of lack of urgency low down. It's a big car I suppose. I thought the gear-box was a bit awkward - particularly going from 6th back to 5th / 1st to 2nd. A bit "notchy". It's new I will get used to it. Rear wipe doesn't work properly - it stops half way across its wipe sometimes. Sat Nav took a bit of getting used too - I didn't know you had to have the split window on to see imminent turns or 'maneuvers' as the manual explains. Brakes are okay but nothing special - again probably need to bed in. Space is geared towards the drivers which is great but i reckon we may have struggled four up with luggage. But I think the spare wheel is the killer - which we didn't have in the Fabia. Anyway looking forward to my auto 1.2 DSG SEL which will solve a couple of these issues! These are just general thoughts on a great car - covering a big distance in the second week of purchasing/leasing! (You have to get permission from Skoda Finance to take the car to Europe - but it lasts a year.)
  16. Privilege with all the bells and whistles, and gf on insurance is £270 for l&K 1.4 on PCH. Good service so far on phone. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  17. I've just seen £1500 on a 17000 yeti but includes the £750 from Skoda. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk

  19. Are you saying yetis are unreliable? My Fab has been perfect. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  20. Absolutely, but having never had PCP before nobody could actually confirm this equity thing. But the deals were good at the time. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  21. Tell him to settle the finance then you will buy it. Don't do what he's asking. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  22. The thing is they are cheap in the first instance which is great so I don't expect them to be worth loads at the end. But I do object to dealers verging on fraudulent sales talk when convincing you to buy. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  23. They said when I got them there would be a little equity when we finished the term for a new "deposit". There wasn't. They said nobody could've envisaged the impact the new one had. I did as I raised this at the time. The irony is them trying to sell me another PCP deal that was more expensive by several thousand over the term and claiming it better than PCH. Back on lease for £109 a month. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
  24. Made a phone call to Coln Simpsons about the Yeti lease deals on the web. The guy was arrogant and unhelpful. Claiming yeti L&K were rare and hard to get. He said he may be able to get a Yeti in to test drive. They weren't interested in our Fabia MC estates either to the point of don't bother! So we didn't make the trip and got settled at Lincoln who matched their deal and sorted the Montes. Very slow to do the deal but at least accommodating. Simpsons Preston were good on the phone though. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
