  1. I crossed the English Channel on Monday afternoon, going this way. Two other Muscovados joined me for the trip. I thought three all in the same boat was too many eggs in the same basket. I think they were all mature drivers.
  2. I understand that it's a requirement to have Winters fitted in Austria during the winter period. Some of the main roads show a snow flake symbol from Sept to some time in Spring. I'm unsure what happens if you drive without the right tyres. Wish I'd done something about it.
  3. Chris Glover. Looking at the picture in the Owners Manual p52 fig 32 left top picture. It does appear to show two dots beside switches (I think), that I guess is the same lights as in the picture to the right with the two dots below the switches - as in my car they are the lights. Nothing in the Manual
  4. Thank you for your answers. So its the rheostat that controls the lights, I try adjusting it next time out in darkness. Thanks again.
  5. I got my Greenline on 16th June, ordered in Jan so thats 5 months. The order was with an Internet site, I think that was really quick looking at the delivery times I'm seeing above & the price was really good. It might be useful adding a column for those who buy off the Net, and the waiting times.
  6. I guess all the Yetis have them, but I'm new to skoda & I've never come across these before in a car. The cabin overhead light cluster has two tiny down lights below the light switch. They come on when the road lights are switched on. During darkness they provide a small amount of light in the cabin down onto the central consul. Looking in the Owners Manual I can't find a mention. Whats it intended to light up, and most importantly is it switchable.
  7. Thats interesting Alan I got my Greenline from Happy New car, it arrived on the back of a truck last week. It has variable servicing. Still trying to work out how to turn off the Maxidot display - I keep looking at it.
  8. I notice this topic was last updated in Nov 2011, but thought I would add a comment. Fitting the spare wheel today couldn't have been more straightforward. I ordered the Yeti spare wheel S5L0601011A (I guess thats specific to Greenline)and sparewheel toolkit S5L0071108 from Murray Plymouth, cost £113 & £100 respectively. The tool kit has printed instructions included - in the smallest print in the world. I found that the original sub floor moulded box no longer fitted well with the new wheel as it raises the side of the wheel. Not a problem though, I've left it out. Also, fitting the wheel with the open space facing upwards raised the floor level an inch or so. From the instructions it shows the wheel cavity facing downward so I've gone with that. Total time doing the work was about half an hour. There was only 6 plastic fixings to screw up, shown in diagram. An easy job I just followed the instructions. Now I have the old floor & boxes to find a home for in the shed. My next task is to fit the under seat storage boxes - When they turn up.
  9. I'm pleased to announce my new arrival. Musky ordered on Jan 28th arrived on my drive today. The rain is thundering down bouncing off her roof - I think it's a wonderful sight. Took her to Morrissons earlier parked as far as possible from other nasty cars.Thought about using the Parent & Child parking bays but didn't have the cheek. Maybe the supermarkets could supply bays for worried drivers. Not seen another Yeti anywhere for a while, not even the white one usually parked up on the main road in Liskeard. I used to go that way just for a look.
  10. Amazing. In Crete, Three white rent cars all lined up, then a silver one coming towards me. These Greeks got taste.
  11. There aren't too many days that pass when I don't see a Yeti now, very comforting to see. Did some shopping in Truro yesterday and there was a very clean red one looking at me in the car park.
  12. Only 8 of my advised 9 months to wait now. It'll soon pass. I've been seeing lots of Yeti's on the road this week. Question: What is the collective name of a group of Yeti's.
  13. I guess the model & spec of Yeti must have a bearing on delivery waiting lists. My 6 months is now down to 5.5 months. Greenline no extras. There was at red Yeti Morrisons having the tyres inflated yesterday. As a devotee, I couldn't decide if it was Corrida or Rosso. How bad is that.
  14. On my recent trip to local dealership (not the one ordered from) I was shown a pad of paintwork colours. Not the usual smallish plastic blocks. This was a plastic sheet about 10x10 inch's. I thought it was a pretty accurate representation of the car paintwork and big enough. The colours shown in the brochures aren't too good. On another visit I remember thinking a Cappuccino colour Yeti was the Muscovado - It was among dark colour cars, but I was convinced at the time. Now, of course, an expert on what I've ordered I could spot Muscovado at a hundred yards. Oh yeah.
  15. Only 28 Days... I'm still being quoted 6 months. I really hope they're ramping up production.
  16. I ordered the Muscovado Greenline. But now I've seen a Cappuccino on the road I think thats a really classy looker. The Aqua Blue is an interesting colour, I thought it was silver until seeing it near a real silver car. Its quite a subtle shade & I guess it wont show too much dirt. Picking a colour is a bit of a flyer, when in a show room they all look great. I think the best place to look at colours is in a supermarket car parks - problem though, I've not seen a Yeti in one.
  17. In general the point about the bonus culture in the financial sector I totally agree with, based largely upon factors that don't benefit their industry too much. But, I the RBS Hestor guys deal is a bit different. I think he was asked to take the Job- by the last Govt- to sort the bank out, with the view of returning a profit to tax payers. But can you just imagine the vastness of these peoples bonuses. Going back to the first Post, if this this were cash imagine the space required Regards Pete
  18. Thanks Llanigraham, I'll take a look at them. Regards Pete
  19. I guess those in the Ivory tower plan to inflate our way out of trouble. Add in a bit of money printing and hey presto you've stimulated growth. As there isn't any real money anymore the world your lobster. They could even bung me a billion - thats a European billion I think thats more cash, though I think what we're seeing on tele is use of US Short Form of billions-three less zero's. I'm gonna have a look at Wikipedia Regards Pete
  20. Thanks Anzio. I spoke to dealer earlier, came up with outrageous prices for spare wheel kit. So I've got a plan. I'll buy a 16" space saver- from someplace I hope. and the jack & brace from Ebay, I hope. Then I'll do the same as one of the Posts here and make a new floor. I guess thats about it, what could be easier- gulp. Regards Pete
  21. Hope its allowed to insert a link, but I recently got this link from Obama. http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html Makes you think - a trillion - before you know it we're talking real money Regards Pete
  22. Thank you JCP. What a lovely welcome. Regards to all, Pete
  23. Yes, thank you. I'm going to ring my dealer tomorrow re the the kit. I'm sure they will be helpful especially as I can at least sound like I know what I'm talking about now. The Plumber- Wow, a lot of effort gone into the production of your links content, thanks. Looks expensive though, but hey a small fraction of total cost. Rockhopper- thats a penguin with interesting hair cut isn't it, got a photo somewhere.
  24. Thank you very much. Thinking about the salesman did mention emissons due to weight savings. I guess its a hot topic. Regards Pete
