My 1999 1.8t has just rolled over to 68k. Not bad A Just like RickVRS I'v driven (ragged) an LDV (ambulance) that has done over 800k - tight as a drum. its amazing what a simple 6 month oil change can do

I went to Skoda and initially they wanted £100+VAT for the handle assembly but after some more investigation (from Mr Skoda parts) you can simply by the locking sensor for £15+VAT... RESULT!

Have had problems. I needed a new high-level break light, which was poorly fitted… By me… and the rear window squirter pipe popped off. Anyway I had a leak in the tailgate. Now, when the boot is shut and I go to open it via button or driver door; CL opens only to immediately close (the whole car). The boot latch works, boot lights go on/off; the solenoid works, it opens and closes the boot; but the key/latch part does not function, when I turn the key in the boot I can hear the solenoid being manually moved, via the key, but no CL. So whatson... I think it is this part. Will the new part have to have to have a new key or can I use the original key barrel? And the most important question HOW MUCH WILL IT COST FOR A NEW ONE????????????

Silly question but will this work on the older model ('99 SLXI) 1.8t, as at the time my skoda was born this wasnt even an optional extra. Will hang my head in shame for having a pre face lifted MK1

Hi everyone! I have been really impressed with briskoda.net over the last few days and have found many interesting things about my little broom-broom. My car is (actually my dad’s car or should I say it WAS) it’s a limited edition MK1 Octavia SLXI 1.8T, with body skirts, wood trim, full leather, and as far as I know it’s got every optional extra in the book for its age (99). My dad has had this car from ex-demo and reluctantly had to give her up. So I am the proud owner of a mint condition 50k Octavia, a vast improvement from my previous car a Volvo V40; or as my friends called it ‘anne hathaway's cottage’. I would like to put my mark on the car I was thinking about lightly smoking the windows it there anything else people would. Thanks
