  1. I’ve decided to opt into my works salary sacrifice scheme and as such, my Superb will be available if anyone is interested. It will likely be a couple of weeks as I need to take off the private plate and get the new V5 Details of the car are 2018/68 superb Sportline plus 4x4 190 DSG 34,000 miles FSH and serviced last week, including the Haldex service Upgraded 19” alloys with tyres at about 5mm. One Tim does have some kerbing but the others are perfect Overall condition is first class and will be a shame to let her go Photos attached and feel free to DM me any questions. Location is near Lincoln £21,000 and I’ll include the hard wired dashcam, Amazon Auto and the boot nets Thanks Fluffy
  2. I’ll be splitting after the box that changes the 12v to 5v for the usb. I was worried that the box that does the 12v to 5v conversion might be overloaded
  3. I’ve hardwired my Nextbase dash cam into the fuse box on an ignition live circuit so that it comes on with the ignition. My question is, could I run an Amazon Auto off the same wiring by using a splitter to turn the hardwire kit from one output to two? I was concerned that the 2 devices might put too much current for the nextbase hardwire kit thanks for any guidance
  4. Yeh it’s from National company. They’re calling me Tuesday so should know by then.
  5. It’s not from a Skoda dealer but will be ensuring everything is done or will get them to do it before I take it. Will take an extended warranty either way as it’s peace of mind. It was last serviced at 20k miles in June but don’t know what was done until they send me the history
  6. Thanks for that. Im lucky theres a few good Skoda/VW independents In Lincoln. I’ve asked the garage for evidence the haldex and DSG has been done
  7. Thanks. It’s only done 20k miles So not due yet but good to know. They do a service package which might work out good value if it needs the Haldex change next year
  8. Hi all and happy Xmas I've put a deposit down on a 68plate Sportline plus 4x4 TDI. Not driven it yet but looking forward to it being moved over to my local dealership. Any members have one of these and any idea or real world mpg figures? thanks
  9. All sorted. Some German large rat thing had climbed into my engine bay and chewed a pipe. 15mins and €32 and I’m back running
  10. So I decided to take my 2yr &11month old Octavia 1.6d over to Germany on holiday. Today I started her up and the amber coil light was flashing. Shortly after the start/stop error message appeared and then cruise disabled. About 10mins later the amber EML light came on too. I’ve seen this can be battery related but I’d driven 300 miles the day before and didn’t leave anything on overnight Hopefully the local dealer will squeeze me in before I’m due to come home. Far from ideal and pretty stressful. any thoughts on what could be the cause?
  11. Thanks for the advice. I’ve ordered anoth 8gb of memory and gone though all installed programs and uninstalled the ones I don’t use. I’ve also taken of Avast antivirus and will run with Windows 10 own one for now. I though my prinary drive was a ssd but it’s not so might look at that next. One other quesrion, although I have 4 HDD at the moment I don’t need that much space. Does having More drives slow things down? thanks agai
  12. Booting up is fine but it just seems to take ages to do anything when waking from standby. I’m not running any programs in the background and can only put it down to the PC struggling with windows 10 and the media being streamed
  13. Hi All. After some advice on the best route for my next PC. I've currently got an old AMD A6-5400k desktop with 8gb of RAM and its starting to be very slow these days. I don't play any games and just use for internet and streaming from my HDD. I've a few media streamers in the house that access music and video from the desktop and i also use plex on my main TV. i was thinking about an i7-8550u Laptop but not sure if it would be up to what i currently do? I'm guessing it will as it'll have the same amount of memory but a faster CPU? I also have 4x HDD in the desktop and would look to just get 1x 2tb internal drive to replace the 4x smaller ones. Not sure if this will be impacting the speed but guessing so. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated please cheers
  14. Great minds think a like and was exactly what I thought. I’m planning to ask her once she’s calmed a bit. She’s taking to skoda in the morning to be sure
  15. Apparently it went straight to the floor with no resistance and she pumped a few times too. Perfectly fine now and the car is only 11months old and done 9000miles
  16. HI All I've an urgent query i'm hoping someone can help with. My Wife and Daughter are on the way to Scotland and she's just phoned me to say she was driving in cruise and when she pressed the brakes there was nothing there. She has to slow using the handbrake and was obviously very frightened. I'm struggling to see how this happened though as i would have expected the CC to switch off when the brake pedal was pressed and even if it didn't, i'd have expected there to be at least resistance in the brake pedal? She says it's perfectly fine now with the CC switched off and brakes as normal? any views from the Briskoda team? Matt
  17. Only down 125,000 so far so might need doing soon. Hopefully while it's still with the company
  18. Caravan is plated at 1300kg max. Had originally thought about using the Fabia but at 1000kg max, I don't think the 1.0 would like it too much
  19. Yeh it's a TDI and it was what I was thinking too. We've also got a few small trailers for going tot the tip and doing other work so would defiantly be looking for a car to tow with
  20. So I've ordered my new company car and ended going for a Lexus IS300h mainly due to tax and fuel rates. I'll still need to tow my caravan and the Lexus can't do that. My wife currently has a PCP deal on a Fabia and will have 18months to run when my VRS goes back in Jan. I'm thinking of ending the PCP deal early and buying my old VRS. I can be the 14plate VRS with 150,000miles for £6k but will have to pay Skoda £2k fee to hand the Fabia back early. Looks to be the best option at the moment unless Skoda will "do me a deal" with me buying the VRS and selling it to them + the Fabia going back early if I buy a new car from them? any other thoughts? My wife only does 20miles a day and doesn't really need a VRS Estate for that commute
  21. Think the SEL 150 DSG will tick all the boxes. You're right on the mileage, my VRS is 3yrs old and I've spent nearly 4months in the driving seat
  22. Thanks. Im currently getting 48mpg from the VRS and need to be that or better really. I don't go over 80 (on private roads) and will see how I get on with the test drive. I'm also testing a Passat 150ps GT DSG but I'm guessing it'll be pretty much the same
  23. Thanks for the advice guys. Like the idea of the DSG as I do spend a lot of time in London and auto would be better than changing from 1st to 2nd a thousand times. Got a SEL 150ps DSG Estate on a weekend demo and will see how I get on. If the mpg is not too bad then might go for 4x4 or maybe 190ps
  24. I'm due to replace my VRS Estate next month with a new company car. I'm looking at Superbs and after the view of fellow Briskodians for which one to chose. I do 45,000 miles a year and will be towing my caravan 3/4 times a year. I'll have to pay for any options I chose and for fuel, I pay myself and claim 11p/mile back. Break even is about 50mpg so if I can get better on my commute then I'll make a little cash choices are Hatch - superb 150ps L&K manual Hatch - Superb 150ps SEL Auto Hatch - Superb 150ps SEL Auto 4x4 Hatch - Superb 190ps SEL Manual Hatch - Superb SEL Greenline Estate - Superb 150ps SEL Auto Estate - Superb SEL Greenline thanks in advance for any feedback
  25. Yep. Got a company car so had to do it properly. That included the factory prep and the physical fitting. Cost about £600 I seem to remember which was about £250 for the factory prep and £350 for the fitting
