  1. Anyone fitted Michelin Energy Saver tyres?
  2. Just back from a visit to Unicars Larnaca where I was told that the NSF drive shaft bearing is the problem, they have ordered the part and also the OSF bearing at my request just in case this side is faulty too. Happy that I had the 5 year extended warranty as the car is only just three years old but not so happy that the bearings are wearing after only 30,000 kms, which is only 18,750 mls, as the cost of replacement is €150 plus parts each.
  3. Definitely not the CV joint, no clicking or grating in a straight line or on full lock. Sounds like a whirring from the end of the shaft but like a rumbling from the drivers seat.
  4. Over the last month I've noticed a noise, much like a wheel bearing breaking down. This morning I was changing my wheels around, front to back etc, when I noticed that when I spun the OSF wheel I could hear a whirring noise from the inner end of the drive shaft, but not from the NSF wheel. I wonder if this is the noise I have been hearing. Anyone had the same problem?
  5. Having the same problem with the drivers door window, no one touch operation. Also had a problem with the anti trap on the same window, will not close just keeps going up and down. Dealer as re programmed the window twice but now they have decided to fit a new window lifter, I presume this is the electric motor.
  6. Have been told by a good friend at Skoda that the delivery time for Yeti is now 15 weeks and this is for the facelift model
  7. Maybe I,m gentle with my tyres, like Kimi Raikkonen, but my Conti Premium 2's have done 14000 klms and to be honest they still look new.
  8. I've had my 1.4 TSI Yeti for just over one year now and have never had to top up the oil. Really pleased with the engine.
  9. Just for you 900000. Not seen another monster this colour in Cyprus, nor an open bank.
  10. Sort of off topic but why do I need a rev counter, fuel range, miles per gallon, inside outside temp etc?
  11. I,m with Fred and Graham just drive it and ENJOY
  12. My advice would be to buy a set of Bojo plastic trim removal tools from e bay these are excellent for removing trim with no damage.
  13. I brimmed my tank then ran until the fuel warning light came on then I brimmed the tank again, according to my maths I got 40mpg. I clocked 682.9 kilometres, about 300 of this was high speed motorway driving the rest was around the villages. I included my figures for a smarter member to check. 682.9 kilometres/48.2l litres 424.3 miles/10.59 gallons Hope this is of some help
  14. I keep meaning to find the time to check my fuel consumption but what with all the conversions, kilometres and litres to miles and gallons, I keep putting it off. I will try to do this in the near future. Anyway I would say that BossFox is close to being right, around 400- 450 mpg per tank, but I do find the consumption quite high on hard motorway driving. But still glad I got the 1.4TSI it;s a superb engine.

    MDI retrofit

All the answers you need are on a post titled MDI Retro Fit.
  16. Having driven both the 1.4 and 1.2 I found the 1.2 a little under powered for a manual box, to much gear changing, but fine with the DSG but as I prefer a manual box I went for the 1.4 has loads of pulling power so you're not changing gear all the time. Really pleased with my Yeti.
  17. The instructions list a wiring harness, this is the Kufatec cable, if you are just getting the MDI you will need this cable.
  18. Hi JCP, Thanks for the advice took my local dealer only minutes to enable the MDI at a cost of 17 euros. All working fine now I just have to finish the installation, going to fit i pod/phone holder in the jumbo box. Thanks to all who posted on this topic.
  19. Hi drbig, I've finished fitting MDI unit,to my 2012 Yeti, using all the suggested parts but it is not working. Do you think I will have to have it enabled by a Skoda dealer?
  20. Hi mate, hold fire on the rear mud flaps standard fitting here in Cyprus check to see if same in UK. Anyone need a pair of rear mud flaps?
  21. So two screws or double sided tape is theft proof!
  22. Hi, if your reg plate surround is the same as mine the bottom part, where it says Unicars, unclips and the plate slides out.
  23. Hi, I had the same problems as you not enough mileage to justify diesel and plenty of mountainside journeys in Cyprus. Test drove the 1.2 TSI DSG and was impressed but for the extra 1000 euros I went for the 1.4 TSI. Not regretted my choice once.
