Retro fitting heated seats
Skodmark replied to Skodmark's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for your feedback. I'll have to look into it further and speak to my mechanic (he's an ex main VW then Audi main dealer master tech). I still can't get over that someone would spend all that money on a car new without having the heated seat option! Anyway, need to work out a master plan without upsetting the wife too much! Cheers guys. -
Retro fitting heated seats

Hi langers2k, thanks for getting back to me. Sounds like a warm coat and strapping a pair on then! Cheers Mark. -
Hi, I've got a 2010 facelift VRS with the full leather option but no heated seats (why do that!). What I'm wondering does anyone know if it's possible to 'activate' a heated seat option by just changing the switches on the heater control panel and activate using vagcom, or would it mean retro fitting everything? That might seem a strange question but I've been told before that quite often when a car is being built, some of the more inexpensive options are fitted in the factory because the cost of having to set up the machinery for different specs is more expensive than actually fitting the same to all (in this case a heated seat mat) and I do know that principle does apply to wiring looms, again down to manufacturing costs.

Update. Had the car looked at again, no fault codes, no pipes split or leaking, guy used dealer software to test everything operating properly (maf, actuator, n249, etc), replaced the n75 valve and still surging and screeching. Long shot that it might be a dodgy remap, although not sure how you tell if it's been remapped or how you go about putting it back to standard? or the turbo's buggered, although there's no smoke when accelerating? Also stripped out the Forge DV and found a blue spring? Any thoughts guys?

I'll take the airbox bottom, pm me your payment details please.

No, i've not got round to fitting that extra yet, got to be worth at least 10 horses when i do though !

Yeah, the whistle only appears when driving even on gentle acceleration like pulling off of the drive!? This sounds expensive?

Thanks guys, had the recall done so got 4 nice shiny new coilpacks! The guy that looked at it is an Audi technician so scanned with dealer software (reckons better than vagcom?) and no fault codes found. I haven't got a clue whether it's been remapped and as it won't accelerate properly i can't even begin to wonder if it has? Will maybe have a look at a N75 valve next. Forgot to say, you can almost play a tune with the throttle pedal as there's a whistle that goes up and down depending how much you press the pedal!

Hi, wonder if anyone else has encountered this problem and if so, any idea's where to start? Got a mk1 Octy vrs, cruises lovely, but when i accelerate the car surges and holds back several times before max revs. It also makes a strange sort of fluttering chattery noise as it surges. It feels realy noticable and not good. Had someone look at it who pointed out the Forge DV saying that that was the cause of the problems, so i ordered an original recirculation valve to replace it thinking this would solve all of my problems, only to find nothing has changed! Any advice?

Sounds on the money. I've just left a deposit on a silver 55 plate mk1 with 59k for just shy of 3500.
