  1. Hi, I have the same problem, when I am in Plymouth, it shows a map of the Bodmin area in Cornwall. Mine is a 2009 Superb Elegance. The GPS antenna did the same a couple of years ago, but I was lucky then as it was still under warranty. Obviously it has failed again. Apparently this is a common fault. My local skoda dealer has quoted £350 including VAT, I suppose most of that is the labour for taking down and replacing the headlining, not a DIY job without the right tools! This weekend I am taking it to a car radio specialist who do a diagnostic check for £49.95 and attempt to cure it in that price, but if it is the antenna they fit an alternative and put the receiver behind the rear view mirro, or somwhere inconspicuous where it can 'see' the satellites, cost about £40.
  2. I have a 2009 superb elegance 170BHP & I am now towing a caravan with it. The columbus sat nav is great, no problem normally, but regardless of selecting fastest, shortest or most economical route it will want to take you down a single track road, which of course is not much good when towing a caravan. Been caught a couple of times, but managed to escape unscathed, so I keep a careful watch on the good old paper map and check the turnings before committing. Probably not possible with this unit but does anybody know if there is a way of getting into the menu to prevent it from selecting single track and unadopted roads/lanes?
  3. Hi, Can anyone help. Have a Samsung Galaxy Fame which pairs OK with my Superb Elegance (2009) but not automatically as did my old Nokia. I understand this is because the android operating system 'ignores' the 'handshake' from the car module. If I set the phone to 'scan' then immediately turn the ignition on it finds the phone & asks if it is OK to download contacts ( I have not ticked the box which says ignore this in future). It works fine, but it appears if the signal is lost it disconnects & will not automatically reconnect without going through the manual routine. I tried one of the apps on play Google for automatic connection but the one I used did not support rSAP. Anyone any ideas?
  4. Can anyone confirm if the guide posted "'Alien8d', on 14 Dec 2008 - 21:07, said:" reference how to get a windows phone to work with rSAP will work with latest windows phone. I got nokia Lumia 520, thinking its nokia, its bound to work! Of course it didn't. Nice phone but had to return it and go back to my Nokia Classic 2730. Or can anyone advise any budget 'smartphone' that will work with rSAP? Or am I destined to wait until I can afford to change the Bluetooth module.
  5. Thanks to kbphoto & adam, I will try the disc again. I'm not used to the forums what does 'PM' me mean. I assume its a way of contact through normal e-mail? Mike
  6. Skoda superb II 2009 elegance CR 170BHP. My Columbus did show on set up: 3T0035680A HW - H11 SW - 2764 A helpful parts man at my local dealer (Plymouth) gave me a firmware disc that he said worked in his Octavia. I don't know what version it was but it said successful. However, still could not get 7 digit post codes and now the set up button only gives me the AM/FM. He then gave me a disc (both are skoda discs) with 4020 on it. This one came up with a downgrade error. He is now checking to see if he can get a 37xx disc so I can try that one then put in the 4020, followed by V9 maps disc. In case he cant get a 37xx is there any one out there who could lone me one?
  7. Have a skoda superb 2009 elegance. Anyone know if it is possible to pair a nokia lumia 520? rSAP comes up on the phone but no password on the maxidot? Chinster
  8. I have the same problem (2009 Superb Elegance CR170 DSG)so took it to the dealer before warranty runs out in March. They said the GPS aerial failed. New one being fitted this Friday (2 & half hours as the headlining has to come down for access). This must be a common fault as the dealer immediately said aerial as they had just recently had a superb in with same fault. I read somwhere it could be water ingress?
  9. I have also suffered the same fault after the recent frost, door would not stay shut at all, but managed eventually to get it to latch on, then could not open it from outside. Repaired by dealer under warranty (siad they realigned it?). Think I might push to get the cable changed. At the same time my Sat nav failed. Map comes up on screen but not showing where I am actually located. Guessed it was the GPS roof aerial and dealer confirmed it had failed. Awaiting new part which they say will take 2.5 hours as the roof lining has to be taken out. Chinster
