I have a 2007 pre-facelift Octavia (Ambiente), the original Stream stereo is now having problems playing CDs, so I'm looking to swap it out for something that plays CDs reliably and/or plays from SD card. I've been given an RCD 310 for free, which is from a 2012 Seat Alhambra. But, am I right in thinking I'd need to change the CAN Bus gateway to make it work without battery drain? It also looks like I'd need an adapter for the radio aerial. Then I'd need to find a fascia to make the RCD 310 fit the Skoda dash. I'm struggling to find the right shape one (in black) for a car which only has standard air-con, not climate. Would I be better off finding a Bolero unit and fitting that so that I don't need the replacement fascia? Would I still need a new CAN Bus gateway and if so, what version do I need to look out for? Do you just need to swap over the gateway or is there anything else to do to configure it? Thanks
