  1. i have a 5 speed box already - do I need a different box ie froma 1.8 or 2.0 or a 6 speeder??
  2. hi all my first post - and i am not overly technical Just got an 03 plate octavia for only 40k on the clock. - it is a 1.6 engine and is great around town and not bad on the motorway - only thing is that it will have higher revs when i am driving at 70mph - sits around 40k i think Was wondering is there anyway to improve performance and econmoy on motorway with this engine so it doesn't seem to work too hard...? Maybe if i swapout the top manifold and injection unit for a 1.8/2.0 and the exhaust manifold for a 1.8/2.0 (or just teh manifold leav eold injection unit oin there? - are they same fitment but different hole sizes - easier and quicker gas flows?? - or just get new exhaust system? or can i just use a VRS exhaust - full or backend only?? trying to balance limited budget with performance - i am no boy racer but woudl like to have a car working nicer on motorways..... Any ideas or help will be appreciated...thanks Riz
  3. cheers for feedback - i will look to chane or clean out the breather pipes...
  4. Hi all Just got my Skoda Octavia last week '03 plate - with genuine 38k on clock! It is a 1.6 SR petrol model...silver Ambiente model. A few opening questions as i am not sure where to start to look... 1. I have done full service and oil change but getting "cream" on my oil cap - how can i fix this please? > looked at posts, alot of them refer to VRS model - is 1.6 same setup? > should i change all breather pipes? (any ideas as to where i can get these from?) 2. Car was missing all three rear headrests - can i use bora ones (checking on ebay)? 3. How do i get my car to improve the mpg whilst on the motorway? mpg consumption goes to mid 30's once on motorway which is very low i think...i thought mid 40s should have been better? I am not very technical/mechanical - can do basics - so bear with me please Thanks Riz
  5. All are 5 stud but the stud size is different.

  6. Really - thats a bugger !!

Is it because of number of studs (is mine a 4 stud? - i only bought it last week havent even chekced the wheels) or actual fitment spacing?

    thanks ;)

  7. These wheels are from an A5 Octavia 2004 onwards. I notice you have a 2003 model so these wheels will not fit.

  8. I think I am asking a fair price considering the condition of the wheels and tyres. I don't know the tread depth, but I can let you know tomorrow.

  9. Excellent ...would you have any movement/flexibility on the price?

Also do you know much "mm" tread depth do you have on each trye ?

Car was missing all three rear headrests - can i use bora ones (as i was checking on ebay)? 3. How do i get my car to improve the mpg whilst on the motorway? mpg consumption goes to mid 30's once on motorway which is very low i think...i thought mid 40s shoudl have bene better?
