  1. Built-in Sat Nav and Climate will def make a more attractive proposition when selling / trading up. I'm thinking about a white Estate and Rear-elec windows, S/R, Climate and SatNav are def on the upgrade list, given you'll be getting them sans VAT as well, then the few extra ££ per month are nothing in the long run. You'll get 60-70% of the options outlay back on the re-sale in 2 years time (when I plan on changing again)
  2. All the above look spot on, just a wee FYI... MK4 R32s came with 334mm brakes, not 323mm and require 18" alloys, so in case anyone thought this was the ideal upgrade (brakes were fantastic on the R32) they won't fit under 17" alloys.
  3. Just an opinion, but.... the Octy has a curvey shape and needs a set of alloys that compliment that shap. Those alloys are quite nice on their own, but a bit to angular / racy for the sleek understanded (compared to other cars) look of the Octy. I think a nice 5 or 7 spoke slight dished would look better........ but just an ooinion. Also, if the car was black and lowered it might go better.... al al (ok, not the best PS, but a 5 min job; quick bit of black and lowered)
  4. Not sure what they are but they don't suit the Oct II IMo.... look a lot like Team Dynamics Jet 100's and Fox RS3s.. I think the Fox are a 15 spoke'r like those. Did you say they look like a fake split rim, with studs around the lip, if so Fox RS3 are like that, and given that its a Livi / Broxvurn car and Halfords sell Fox alloys it could well be those (tentaive I know).
  5. I was going to get the PD160 intake and Green filter, but a std filter from my local Car shop is £8 and upon thinking about it, unless I remap the car I can't see how the PD160 intake will make a jot of difference to a std car, so I've just kept it standard for now.
  6. Maybe, the but both the Audi and Volvo are more 'jacked' up and potentially will be taken off-road; farms, horses, fields, etc, where-as I just don't see that happening in the Octy 4x4, in the same way an A4 Quattro wouldn't or an R32 golf!!
  7. Wouldn't want to do that on a VRS. I've bought loads of tyres from MyTyres.co.uk....... been spot on each time! The likes of QuickFit, National, etc, can't come close to MT prices. Other one to try (also very good) are BlackCircles.com !
  8. I'm not sure if many are aware, but the 4x4 capabilities of the Octavia shouldn't be aligned with those of a SUV, Ganage Rover, etc. The Octy uses the Golf platform and as such uses Haldex 4WD which is mostly FWD until power in required at the rear wheels. Its a 4x4 system that is designed for road going cars, so road going tyres would be the right choice and not those designated '4x4' at tyre suppliers.
  9. Didn't know that... is that a new development from Forge ?
  10. VAG cars use Recirculation Valves, and as the name suggest the recirculate the air and do not actually dump it into the atmophere. Although you do get a noise, its not the same as the "PHhhhhhhh Tschsssssssssssss" noises you get from the MaxP scooby type dump valves.
  11. Has anyone mentioned upgarding the Intercooler to help reduce smoke if the car has AMD 1 already. If you have a new map and mroe power, its likley that you'll need better charge cooling which can help reduce heat soak and smokieness.
  12. I p/x'd the R32 for the vRS for that very reason... I used it once a week if I was lucky, somtimes I didn't drive it for 2 weeks or more and only then did I take it out for a thrashing!!!! I now use the vRS 4-5 days a week so its worth while, but I do mkiss the R32, so I[m guessing you'll miss the vRS. But it will be like breaking up with ya bird, after a while the memories will fade and you'll forget what it was like to drive or the feel or sound. A car is a lump of metal at the end of the day, so don't hold onto it if it financially not worth it........... you can always get another if you want to!
