  1. Got mine in India, for my Octavia/Laura, and costed me only approx
  2. hey this surround panel is great! I have the 2006 octy aka Laura(in India), and its 1.9PD L&K model with Climatecontrol. Is a surround available for this? and How much would it cost?
  3. MAYBE u should go to the Setup menu of ur Display and there u should "activate" the coming home/leaving home option. Think that should solve the problem?
  4. IMHO... if u going for sizes above 40" then go for a plasma! they are real nice! the fast action movies are jus great in it! and the blacks are awesome. While if u want to go for a smaller size, then ur best bet is the LCD, the blacks arnt as good as the Plasma, and the Pic is not as crisp in fast action scenes. About things being replaced, whatever u buy, it will always be replaced with a better one, so u have to decide when u got to buy it! once FLCD comes in, am sure something else will be there to replace it again, As with Plasmas, i heard OLED tvs are to replace it in the future. its like computers, the moment a new Pentium processor comes, the older ones get dropped in prices, and the moment u buy the latest processor, their comes an announcement of another new one! now thats life!
  5. cant say abt it as never seen it, not launched in India yet! Dont know if how many of u have heard of this, but in India, Cocacola and Pepsi are having a real bad time now, being banned in some states here, because theres been found high traces of "pesticides" in these drinks! and its becoming quiet a serious matter here. Now in a new advert, the Pepsi India chairman himself has come on stage assuring ppl that the Pepsi is safe for him, his children and all other ppl, and are now inviting ppl to come have a look at their plant!
  6. wow! this is a great post! wonder wud someone really be doing all these? the setting off the alarm part seems to be doable, but other things... strange! wud be hillarious to watch those vids of ppl doing such things! these security guys must be having a lovely time behind the monitors!
  7. the Octavia looks awesome with the twin exhausts! great work mate!
  8. JohnMorr... the thing that u are feeling is actually a MECHANICAL lock that is being controlled electronically. u can easily experiment with it as whenever u keep the car in neutral and then apply the brake or realese it, the lock comes in place, and u are not able to change the gears.
  9. Pete's make Air Filters too? oh! news to me. Well, which one wud you ppl recommend, the Petes Green Cotton or the K&N Air Filter? Thanx for letting me know the sizes are different.
  10. I have used the Hankook before, and they are very nice. no problems with them, the Hankook OPTIMA range comes in Hyundai Tucson and Sonata Embera's as Stock.
  11. Hey all, In India, Skoda has fixed the Service to every 7,500 Kms. for the Octavia Diesels. and even the First run-in service comes due only at 7,500 Kms. The Oil and Oil Filter is changed every 7,500 Kms, where its Normal Oil, but in case of the Synthetic Oil, i am not sure when they will keep changing. also, Fuel Filter cleaned/replaced if necessary in this.
  12. Hi all! I am buying the new Octavia in a week now, and i want to know if the AIR FILTER is the same in the New Octavia and the previous one? I am planning to put the K&N Replacement Air Filter for my new Octavia 1.9TDi DSG Auto, wud u recommend it? thanx a lot in advance!
  13. hey there! thanx for that link, awesome cars! whoa! never imagined some of the designs! just loved the Red car there with the Merc C Class break lights and the long Pipe Exhausts!
  14. Hey all, thanx a lot for the replies! MO: u bet thats right! JOHNNY: hey good to hear u visitin, Goa sure is a great place! its around 600KM from my city. and the Skoda Factory is in a place called AURANGABAD. which is towards the west of India.
  15. Hi everybody! i am happy i found this forum as i see a lot of activity going on here. I live in India, and am buying the new Octavia. Taking delivery on around 16th of Jan. In India, Skoda has launched the new Octavia as "SKODA LAURA" coz it is still selling the older Octavia. The Laura is costing me around in GBP22,000 . Here they are launching only one version as of now which goes like this.. 1.9 TDi Pump Duse Engine DSG Six Speed Automatic Gearbox with Tiptronic. 6 Airbags 12 Speaker System with 6 CD Changer indash Front and Rear Park Distance Controller with Visual display on the Dash. Tyre Pressure Monitoring ESP, and all extras of it. ABS and all extras of it. Cruise Control (which can hardly be used in india!!!) Xenon Headlights. Headlight Washer Rain Sensor Automatic Windshield Wipers Auto Diming Rear View Mirror Side rear view mirrors come with Indicators and Spot Lamps, Flip key, Headlights with Sensors - they go on when its Dark. Onyx Beige Leather 16" Alloys - 205/55/16, which i am changing to 225/50/16 - Pirelli P6000 Electronic Sun/Moon Roof. and a few more of this and that ... the two things i jus didnt like abt this car are: 1. India is Right Hand Drive...so the indicator lever should be on the right side of the steering, but here they giving us the indicator lever on the left, and Wiper lever on the right. 2. Rear seats are GREAT for 2 ppl, but if the third man is sitting in the middle, hez just not comfortable, as the back rest is too forward for him, and the head room is very less. he will have to watch out banging his head to the cieling lights. else alls great
