  1. I have not been told what I am on, Going by the hand written sticker on the inside of the driver's door, I would presume it is fixed. "Next service Dec 2013 or 10,000 miles" It's weird. My average trip is 20 or so miles on a mix of roads. Got it booked in at Griffin Mill next week for a check on diagnostics.
  2. Have had car since December. Have 5500 miles on clock, but car is now saying 700 miles to service. What is going on? It's supposed to be either Dec this year or 10,000 miles. Oil levels etc seem fine and I drive it normally. I average 41 mpg on the 2 ltr diesel.
  3. My wife (and a few others) bought a Thule roof rack and 2 bike racks. It's been raining so much since 25th that I haven't had chance to put them on.
  4. Right then. Got the new Yeti. Got the steel wheels on it, with winter continental tyres. Bought a tyre tree to store the wheels/tyres. How do I get that centre cap out of the alloys without damaging it? Can't put them on the tree without removing it,

Father Christmas is bringing a pair of Thule bike racks Happy days...
  7. Will deffo get GAP for my new yeti. As I will be paying for the car over 4 years, I will get replacement vehicle cover for 4 years. Premiums only look arount £200. Question I want to ask is on' scratch and dent' insurance - what are the best buys/options? I am sick to death of picking up small dents from suparmarket car parks!
  8. That's a crazy price. I only paid £133 for my 4 steel wheels. Any good suppliers of third party trims about?

Brought forward to build week 46 now...
  10. Just had a quote that seems too cheap, from a skoda dealer... 7J/16H2 ET45 Steel Rims Rally Black - Part 3C0 601 027 M 03C. 4 for 110.92 + VAT!! Are these the steel wheels everyone on here is talking about?
  11. Ordered the 5 year warranty on my soon to be built car. One thing has always bugged me though - why do Skoda only let you get a 5 year warranty on factory build cars (and not nearly new/ex-demos etc)? Do they take extra care when building or something?
  12. Anyone notice a single frame flash of a baby? Looks like someone recorded over kiddie films. Look at 1.18
  13. Looking at this sort of thing myself. Got this off Skoda's website... http://www.skoda.co.uk/GBR/Documents/19648_Skoda%20finance%20range%20bro_v1.pdf Guing by what Sinclair Swansea offer, I'm guessing the service plan bit is similar to this.. This offer is to pay only £349 this gives you 2 years or 20,000 miles fixed interval services (which ever comes sooner) plus 1 free MOT Test. This affordable plan will help your car run reliably and efficiently. As well as this, the plan is fully transferable should you decide to sell your ŠKODA before the contract ends, giving you complete peace of mind! Plus, you have the added reassurance that our service plans are inflation proof! The Service Plan includes: Maximum servicing included in the Service Plan: 1 x Oil change at 10,000 miles or 12 months 1 x Inspection service at 20,000 miles or 24 months 1 x Dust and pollen filter at 24 months 1 x Brake fluid change (if required)* 1 x Spark plug change (if required)* 1 x Fuel Filter (if required)* 1 x Air Filter (if required)* Plus 1 FREE MOT Test! For vehicles 2 years old and over. Is it any good? Seems expensive. I paid £500 for 5 years for my Honda.
  14. Griffin Mill, Pontypridd. Wouldn't touch White Dove after their Seat colleagues made a mess of my Altea FR in the past.
  15. Thanks guys. As Yeti is now due in Dec, I had better get on and choose my winter boots. From the advice on this forum, I have chosen 7J/1642/ET45 steel wheels with 215/60/16 winter tyres. They will fit the bigger 170 brakes right? Only last advice I need is a decent suppier. My dealer in Cardiff says 4 steels will cost £220. I can get 4 for £194, but there is £25 delivery. Can anyone recommend a good supplier? I am being cautious as I am expecting my insurance company to turn their nose up at third party wheels.

Just placed order. Got a great deal. Yeti TDi 170 Elegance. Candy White Rough Road Pack 12 Speaker Sound Temp Spare Wheel Floor Mats Heated Windscreen Front and rear parking sensors 5 Year Warranty Been told average delivery time is 5-6 months but dealer has a 4x4 on order for themselves which they could allocate to me which should reduce delivery time a little bit. Will advise on timing.
  19. About to place the big order. One question though - Front parking sensors. The model I test drive was fitted with the front and rear sensors (not park assist). I am sure I had to press a button on the console to activate these. Is this correct? Having to turn the sensors on seems a bit daft as the time I forget to turn them on will be the time I hit something waiting for the bleep.
  20. Sorry guys can't tune in to the detail in this thread, so I am going to do my blonde impression... Getting a new TDi170 Elegance. It will probably default to summer tyres. What recommendations are there for winter tyres and wheels? Ta

    140 or 170

About to order a 2.0TDI Elegance. Have test drive in near future, but would appreciate some opinions. Which engine is better, the 140 or the 170? I note that the official specs list the 170 as more fuel efficient, but is this right in real life? I used to have an Altea FR with the 170 and it was a rocket. I thought at the time (after several sets of tyres) that perhaps a bit OTT. Interested to see how it works out on a 4x4 chassis.
