  1. okay thanks for this. i'll have a word with the garage in the morning to see what we can work out
  2. I got quoted £730 all in for the local skoda stealers to replace my servo.. Or my local garage can fit one for £195. But supplying the servo myself. So on top of this I have been quoted just over £200 for a new aftermarket servo from a reputable supplier. Or I can get a OEM one from Skoda for £360.
  3. drain holes are all clean and grommets already removed. and I will check in a moment to see what I can work out about the servo in situ.
  4. I will be getting my friend at a local garage fit them as I have no clue and would rather pay someone else to do it. I already have the springs so that's one part of the cost taken away Thanks for the response
  5. right I have had a local garage that my mate works for have a poke around at the engine as two of their mechanics are well experienced with VAG diesel motors and knew quite a bit about the 2.5 TDI. Upon testing the vacuum in various places and what not they managed to work out that it is definitely the servo causing the problem as when the servo is disconnected from the vacuum circuit and the pipe blocked off the pressure in the rest of the circuit returns to normal and I regain turbo function instantly. so it is clear that the servo is the cause of the leak. Now my next task is finding the part number for a replacement servo as the current one has a label on it which I assume would show the part number but sadly it is in a sorry state and no longer readable.
  6. my god that picture is fantastic! good job!
  7. here is how my engine is at the moment. I have removed anything that gets in the way in order to see what I need to get to. I am yet to work out which pipe is the culprit.
  8. and here we arrive to the current state my car is sat in. as can be seen in the superb forum I have got a problem with vacuum loss somewhere resulting in no servo assistance when braking and next to no turbo pressure. so sadly the superb is parked up with the engine stripped of its plastics and I am carefully assessing what is the cause of this leak. I will keep you posted on any updates as and when they happen
  9. I have decided I am going to ditch the green interior lighting in favour for Purple as it is my favourite colour and I know a company who will do it for me. so I made a couple mock up images to see what it will look like
  10. I also have got my old O.Z racing Superturismo wheels out of storage which I had on my old superb. they will be going on the v6 once I get some new rubber all round as I want a higher profile than what is on them as they are awfully low profile for my liking. They will also be fully refurbished and I am thinking a gunmetal grey colour finished to a very high gloss so they have a nice shine to them. Here are some pictures of them fitted on my old Skoda with the 40 profile tyres
  11. Now this will probably not be to most superb owners taste but being a young lad who is a strong lover of the VAG modified scene I couldn't hold back. I went to ultimate dubs with my cousin who has the mk2 gti golf. and the superb did the 450 mile round trip averaging 55mpg Saw some lovely cars there and got plenty of great ideas of people and have since written up a list of things i'd like to do to the superb. At the show there was a stall producing custom made plates so decided it was about time I binned the **** dealership plates in favour of some Pressed UK plates without the nasty GB part. I think they look so much better on the car than the old ones. nice and clean. and have received no interest from my friends at the station even when I questioned traffic one what they thought they said that mine are the best example on the road and there for they they would be worth a roadside argument if I was to be pulled by a novice officer who didn't know the law Also rolled over to 89,000 miles on the return from Shropshire
  12. In this shot you can see the DRL strip on the rubber at the top of the engine bay. they sit nicely either side of the bay in the rubber there and illuminate the engine bay nicely at night. Now I personally think LED strip lights can looks absolutely naff and are tacky but these were professionally wired into the headlights and were on the car when I purchased it so when I peeled them off the headlights I couldn't be bothered to unwire them and waste the effort that went into fitting them so decided to just move them to where nobody can see them but they proved to function rather well in their new locations so decided to keep them
  13. had my friend valet the car as he started out his own company and needed to build up his portfolio so I volunteered my Superb for a little treatment. I was so happy with the result and then later that day I decided to clean the back end up so stripped off the Superb badge and I also decided to get rid of the engine designation to remain a little discreet decided to stop for some pictures when out for a drive with my friend molly in her opel dis-astra Now here is a picture of my Girlfriends Fabia 1.4 MPI (surprisingly enough it wasn't even my idea for her to buy a Skoda)
  14. Okay I will have another more thorough look at the pipes to see if I can find the culprit. Hoping it is a simply hose leak as it will save the servo needing replacing
  15. Once again I went out to take yet more photo's but this time it was with my cousin in his mk2 Golf. Just a couple more of Lee's Golf
  16. I then fitted a set of HEKO wind deflectors
  17. Me and my mate decided to go out for a little drive just to take pictures of my car. because that's how fun I am.. Rocking my lovely high vis jacket LED number plate lights looking good here: At this point I had simply given it a good clean, fitted LED's interior, side light, reverse and number plate, and I also had fitted my 6000k fog light HID's and 5000k HID's in the dipped beam, OSRAM night breakers in the high beam.
  18. right I have made little progress as I have been so busy the past months but will begin to make more progress into the summer so watch this space. In the mean time I have a lot of pictures of the car as she is now should anyone fancy seeing them I can post them on here. :wonder:
  19. hi guys I have a set of lowering springs for my superb and I was wandering if anybody has fitted springs in the past and could give me a brief guide on how to fit them. I have a couple of mates who can provide me the equipment to fit springs just I need to know where to start and what to do in order to get the suspension out and apart. Thanks.
  20. nice one buddy. will have to get myself some of those
  21. could this possibly mean the servo is broken and causing the leak or would it more than likely be a pipe?
  22. it does shudder a bit a think I haven't drove the car since as I refuse to drive it with such little braking capability. Where do I find the vacuum pump? Would that be attached to the pipe coming through the bulkhead on the other end it runs past the battery and connects to the servo?
  23. looks lovely mate Can I ask, where did you get those badges? I would love some for my superb.
  24. The brakes have been checked and there is no signs of binding as in neutral without handbrake you are still able to move the car. and As for the hoses which ones should I check as I have had a quick look and cant spot any obvious signs of a leak.
  25. hi guys, before I start i'll point out that my Superb is a 2002 2.5 tdi with the manual gearbox on Saturday night I was doing my usual driving when a complete racer boy idiot come flying out a junction in front of me forcing me to perform a textbook emergency stop. Now the skoda performed it perfectly. But since stopping I began to pull away immediately noticing a lack of low down power. usually from 1100 rpm up I can smoothly rev up the range but not now it sits at the low 1000's for ages even with the pedal flat and then it appears the engine picks up a little bit of power around 2100rpm where the engine sound suddenly sounds a lot more V6 and a little less john deer. After pulling away from this I was only about quarter mile from my destination and it was when I went to stop that I had noticed the brake pedal had become rock hard as if I had pumped the brakes without the ignition on. Now I expected it would simply correct itself after a few stop starts or even disconnecting the battery over night to reset any electrics that may be playing up but nothing. no obvious problems under the bonnet, and there are no engine management lights. I've had one of my mates plug the car in to check what it reads and he responded with something I didn't understand but along the lines of the engine is under almost full load just idling where he would expect it running around 10-20% he had readings nearing 85%. I dunno what that meant or if it was unrelated. But if anyone has any idea or experience on this it would be greatly appreciated as currently im the blind leading the deaf..
