Thanks for all the advice. I got the MAF changed on Saturday, and it seems to have resolved the problem - I went for a run in the pouring rain this morning without a single splutter. Very chuffed.

Hi, I have an 07 reg Octavia VRS Diesel (PD). For over a year now, the engine is choking - it feels like it is 'misfiring' and there is a noticable drop in performance. This is particularly noticeable in wet weather, when it is almost certain to occur. My local Skoda garage has looked at the problem, and suspected a faulty lamda sensor which was replaced. This did not resolve the issue. Subsequently, I have also had all of the fuel injectors/pumps replaced (fortunately under a recall/'campaign'), a cambelt change and regular services replacing all filters. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this, or have experienced anything similar? Many thanks Alex.
