  1. Yup, in an effort to double check this evening I took out my work phone and they can see each other.
  2. Just bringing this topic back up as my wife has been drving the superb for the past year it never bothered me, now I'm driving it again and its driving me nuts. I recently upgraded the software on my columbus but I understand the bluetooth function is more connected to the maxidot end of things as opposed to the RNS510 unit. I took out the bluetooth module of the car for about a month as I intended on sourcing a replacement, when I put it back in I still have the same errors. When I go to phone, it shows the name of my old phone and says it connecting. It never connects. If I cancel and search for a new phone it says its doing so but detects nothing and my phone cannot detect the car either. In a nut shell the car acts like everythin gis working fine. If I choose to reset the phone from the RNS510 it takes a while before telling me it could not reset. I was considering just replacing the unit but before I go spending money I wanted to be sure there is not some other function in the car I could reset.
  3. I tried the other phones again this morning but no luck. I have an OBD tool here that I must setup to see if I can see anything, not too familiar with VCDS
  4. I have a 2012 Superb Elegance and up until two days ago the bluetooth worked fine. Suddenly one morning my phone did not connect. When I stopped the car I tried to manually initiate the connection but the entries on the Maxidot display has blank. There are normally 3 entries for my wifes phone, my work and my personal, I know my personal phone was the 3rd entry so I scrolled down though the blank entries (if that makes sense) and selected the 3rd slot and it told me a connection was not possible. I could not detect the car BT from either phone. I turned everything off and tried again, but no different. I tried to reset the telephone to factory settings via the Columbus system but it hung for a long time before telling me that a factory reset was not possible. Tonight I disconnected the module under the drivers seat as a few forums who had experience similar said this fixed their issues. I unplugged it, restarted the car with it unplugged and both the maxi dot and Columbus system showed no phone system anymore. I stopped the car, reconnected and once again the two systems appeared, but I still could not connect my phone, detect the car or have the car detect my phone. Has anyone any ideas? She is due a service shortly so she will be going back to the dealers, if the device is knackered is there any chance its covered by any warranty?
  5. After nearly a year of ownership I am less than impressed with the after sales. Issues such as being booked in for appointments only to be told there was not enough time when I arrived and not giving you an upfront price for service or work is very annoying. You sit on the dealership floor while waiting and while they have nice coffee machine and stuff to keep kids entertained, you keep getting a sales man asking you are you ok over and over again, especially when you are waiting over an hour after the quoted pick up time. If you can get over these annoyances, there service work is sport on and the car runs perfect. The guy who sold me the car (think his name was Colin) is gone and to be honest his ability was one of the main reasons I bought from them.
  6. A few months ago I hit a bird which not only broke the chrome cover of the lamp washer but broke the headlamp unit off its mounts and it was just floping about in the opening. I must say I was dissapointed that it broke so easily, I was going about 30 - 40km/h and the bird was only the size of a sparrow. After several visits to the dealership they replaced the light mounts and fixed it back in place but not exactly where it was, it is still slightly off but the lights are focused. After the third trip they told me that the chrome plate for the washer cannot be fitted back as the washer itself is damaged and the plate cannot be fixed to it. I'm a bit ****ed off due to the amount of trips to the dealership only to find out I cant get my car back to the origional look, its still less than a year old. Has anyone any experience with the washers and the chrome plates? I will try get pictures of it later and show you the condition its in.
  7. I read alot on lightinthebox about guides on youtube for fitting their dvd headrests but nobody ever links to them and I cannot seem to find the ones specific to the device they are commenting on. My biggest concern with these after marked devices is how easy they are to add/remove, controlling them and the colour match.
  8. I just picked my car up from there today. There seemed to be a lack of sales people on the floor but the guy I was dealing with was very good. Knew his stuff about both the car, finance and just how to deal with people in general. I won't mention names. There is a guy I often get when I rang and his phone manner was less than plesent. Very abrupt as if I was an inconvinence to him.
  9. Hi all, I picked up my superb elegance 1.6 today, and just had a quick query. If I try to turn on the parking assist it tells me that the speed is too low. This happened during the demo but neither myself or the sales guy minded as traffic was so busy we found it hard to find a spot and I was in such a hurry I gladly skipped it. He had just started the car and informed me we had to go above 10kph since start in order for it to work. I tried it again this evening and its still coming on, despite the car haven been driven at up to 120kph and at the time of pressing the button I was doing about 20kph. Also could anyone advice me about breaking the car in, many people have said that I should keep it below 100kph for the first 1000km, other said 120kph and other still said it did not matter. Cheers Tom
